After the man city v Arsenal game they had a real good ding Dong with the studio guest ( cant recall his name ,hope it was NIT Gullit ) about pep the man city manager > keys was basically slagging pep off while other two was on peps side of the fence and non of it was about the game that had just been on . If Zouman can see this issue , you can see this issue ,a blind man via his guide dog can all see the same issue ,why cant Frank and his staff see this issue and fix it . Getting sick of the same sh*t again and again now. The attacking players we bought in are starting to make a difference because a game like this last season we would have 100% lost. But lampard is f**king useless at sorting out defence. He was useless at Derby he was useless last year and he's useless now. His f**king obsession with Mount is embarrassing. He is literally playing our best players in worse positions (like Pulisic today on the right?) just to accomodate f**king Mount in a position he doesnt even fit in? What a f**king mess from frank.

I think if we had an actual competent manager, we could actually do something this season, but unfortunately with frank nothing is going to happen. I hope he gets the boot before he forces the board and Roman to sign Mount's best friend just to put him in the team for 80 odd million.

Didn't get to watch the match properly, but heard our defence got no help from our midfield whatsoever. If thats the case it makes sense why we conceed so many goals. It seems like weve improved on a very attack from last year, but it doesnt seem like the defensive phase of our play is getting any better. I think the reason we looked more solid against Crystal Palace is that Thiago silva was constantly talking to kante and jorginho and prob marshalling them well.

Even live you could see the big gaps between the lines in transition. Lots of teams have defensive gaps in transition. Many goals come from transition. 

still our formation has 4 out and out attackers, and that’s arguably  one too many. If we do play that formation  Kante and Jorginho need to hang back more and patrol the centre. 

such a crap game. I do think a few of our guys were tired. Jorginho and Kante played a lot of minutes in the two internationals. The subs made us worse in that game. Ziyech trying too hard gave the ball away every time.and James giving away free kick.

The CBs have absolutely no help from their CM, yet people expect them to be "error free" for 90 minutes of being constantly put under pressure. 

Stop putting them in situations where they are vulnerable, and many of these so call 'individual errors" will magically disappear.

This has been and will continue to be a recurring theme against well organized and quality opponents.

 

 

Kepa is seriously being let off with no supporters attending. I’ve never been one to boo our own but suspect boos would have been heard all around the bridge after this performance. 
 

Fear a repeat of last season (Sheff Utd we threw away a 2-0 lead at this stage) with the exception we’re capable of scoring and that I can’t decide if credit to management or the club for the quality brought in. 
 

Kepa can not play, simple as. That’s got to be rule number one. Appreciate he’s a seventy million pound problem for the club and not just the team. He’s a weak link. This is not a surprise. We knew this before the game and yet again we’re saying it. 
 

Franks worked under some of the best managers in the world and yet something is not clicking. Repetitive errors etc etc. Whatever happened to the Bridge being a fortress. 
 

Seriously hacked off with yet another headless defensive display. However, Chelsea being Chelsea we will probably beat United.

Because defensive errors come from panic and panic comes from not being well drilled, repeated individual errors are a result of a systematic problem, namely that no one has a clue where they are supposed to be or what they are supposed to be doing. 
 

Good defensive coaches make sure everybody knows where they are supposed to be, what their specific role and sub roles are and who they are marking before the game, that’s clearly not happening, it’s clear to see.
