December 4, 20214 yr Mendy - ultimately cost us the game, awful with his feet, he has been a mistake waiting to happen for ages, and he has had a number of near misses. Today his luck run out. Christensen - looked panicked at times. Jorginho - after a run of being solid, he is back to being a liability. giving the ball away in stupid situations, putting our own players under pressure. CHO - does nothing, gave he ball away pretty much every time he tries a forward pass Lukaku - has there ever been a bigger waste of space up front. Literally offered nothing. Couldn't hold it up, cant pass, slow, lost aerial duels, doesn't make runs. Absolutely useless. Only players to come out of his game with credit were Mount, RLC and Kai (albeit to a lesser extent. f**king awful.
December 4, 20214 yr Lukaku certainly wasn’t great - a disappointment for sure…but as Tuchel said yesterday, there’s a difference between being training ready and pl ready fitness wise. He certainly isn’t the main reason we lost. The defence and the keeper, plus a bit of misfortune, should be the main focus.

The guy loses the ball the vast majority of the time he tries a forward pass. Gets the ball, dribbles and shimmies, then ultimately either passes it backwards or loses it.
December 4, 20214 yr We usually struggle against athletic big player teams, and we do suffer from ball watching. If you observe Liverpool and ManC gangpress, you can clearly see how they hassle opposition leaving them no time to re-organise and make an accurate pass. In this game too many times our players just fronted the opposition from a few yards without any attempt to rob the ball. We lack intensity, and I mean not puppy-running, but purposeful pressing and hassle with teammates covering possible ball exits. Anyhow, we need to strengthen in winter transfer window or (I prefer) bring to the main squad some promising youngsters from our academy.
December 4, 20214 yr Can someone look in the service manual and see how you get Lukaku out of Autopilot? Gutted to say it but I think it's pretty clear we're a step below Liverpool and Man City. We're playing for third I reckon, Too many avg performances and errors.

He has this weird foot tapping dance and then turns around and passes the ball backwards or sideways. Maybe I am prejudiced, but I do not recall any time CHO went through a defender, always long way around defenders.
December 4, 20214 yr Why the targeting on CHO .. he created the chance which mount should have burried at 2-2.. ziyech did nothing in 60 mins. the blame is on our keeper I mentioned it in his thread before the game .. guess Murphy’s law. let’s go easy on lukaku..if chalobah wasn’t injured we wouldn’t have lost that.

December 4, 20214 yr Nothing worse than losing the Saturday lunchtime kick-off game and having the bitter taste in your mouth all weekend, no doubt made worse by seeing the other title contenders win…plus the overhype of West Ham’s display…they got lucky.

December 4, 20214 yr 34 minutes ago, just said: Disagree with the last bit Sindre. Jorginho hit a pass to Mendy that was never on and put him in a really difficult situation. He has done that before too. Jorginho was awful today. It was a poor pass, no doubt about that. But Mendy had several options to deal with the situation. He could have kicked it out first time, when he controlled it he could have punted it out for a throw-in or corner. Or if all else failed pick it up with his hands and take the indirect free-kick. So as he was the last to have control of the situation he needs to shoulder most of the blame in my view. As of the game I didn't think Jorginho was awful. He controlled the game (like we couldn't when he was missing v Watford) and our trouble came from West Ham's long ball past our attack and midfield for Antonio who would then bully our defenders physically. That's how they scored goals 2 and 3 really.

He's pretty much at the top of all creative metrics and last season was up there with Bruno and KDB on key chances created per game. He created our biggest chance of the second half within minutes of coming on and what was his reward? shoved back at wingback to accommodate a player who's done next to f**k all for over a year.
December 4, 20214 yr --Our attackers before joining Chelsea-- Lukaku: 30G 10A Werner: 34G 13A Havertz: 18G 9A, Ziyech: 9G 20A It is all literally down to system, this system won't fit any attacker in the world no matter how much good he is.
December 4, 20214 yr Gone from smashing Juve to a horror show vs Watford and more of the same today, performance was better today & we’ve been undone by Mendy and a huge slice of luck a speculative cross goes in ffs. Wo Chilly and James in tandem and a strong pivot the system is not working. Alonso & Dave are not able deputies neither are Saul or RLC. Hope we can regroup through the upcoming busy period and not slide down the table. TT is an elite coach he needs to find a solution. I’d say if Chilly is out for months we need to bring somebody in, not freaking Saul at LB. Also have Gallagher at Palace but Chelsea won’t bring him back they’d rather keep Saul!
December 4, 20214 yr On reflection - Where has the drive and intensity gone over the last few weeks. Sorry but TT needs his balls in a vice after that sh*te performance - if he couldn't get the team sparked up for this game after the Watford mess ,then he still doesn't know what a London derby is. When I watch Liverpool and City always attacking with intensity; watch our shower lately and schoolboys could defend against us as we plod forward like some granny 11. After that shower in the first half I was fully expecting to come out for the 2nd half and go up a couple of gears in the hope that TT laid into the players at HT in order to put the game away. Instead it was the same old sh*t that we saw in the first half and ultimately got punished for it and TT wasn't even barking at them from he touchline. I thought Barkley would have got some minutes today and even against Watford, so something is amiss there unless he's keeping wrapped for something else? RLC is known for driving forward from the middle using his strength, only once today did we see him do that, other than that he did not make his presence felt. James wasn't in the game very much and Lukaku only made things worse in attack, and while Jorghino kept the game ticking over there was hardly any forward passes that were penetrating the WH defence. We need to stay ahead of both Liverpool and City because once they get in front they will be harder to catch, although we keep hearing that the aim this year was to get closer to these two, not necessarily win the league....we may achieve that, but by the time the season is done I can't see anywhere but 3rd and that's not just based on the performances over the last two games. While Mendy wasn't at his best today, he has saved our skins more than once or twice this season and while based on stats we have a tight defence we have overall been riding our luck. A schoolboy error and jammy goal may have been our undoing today but my fear is when the likes of Kante / Chillwell / Kovacic aren't in the team we are not as solid and can easily be undone. Our forward line is still shooting blanks and no one seems to have the answer regardless of the money that is thrown at it. Definitely need a bit of a clear out in January and a bigger clear out in the Summer; if we are going to keep Lukaku then we need to play a different style of football, with different players, rather that this the slow, tippy, tappy sh*t that goes nowhere and puts me to sleep every time we play that way.
December 4, 20214 yr We ain't gonna win the league, We ain't gonna win the league, And now you gotta believe us, Now you gotta believe us, Now you gotta believe us, We ain't gonna win the league.
