May 30, 20233 yr Even with all my Balkan bias, I don’t get Vlahovic. If we had to go Balkan, I’d take Mitrovic over Vlahovic in a heartbeat.
July 3, 20233 yr If Vlahovic is the answer, then there are two possibilities. One, we are asking the wrong question and two, we need new scouts.

July 10, 20233 yr Think most of the rumours with this guy are manufactured by the papers due to Juve now having an interest in Lukaku. I don't know why but the media loves inventing these random swap deals that never occur. No ones swapping anyone for anyone just stop with the swap deals!
July 10, 20233 yr I don't think Vlahovic is terrible, I actually really liked him at Fiorentina, but the step up to a bigger name really hasn't worked out well for him, something that has happened to countless players over the years. Is it because Juve have been a mess for the past few seasons, or is it because Vlahovic can't perform for one of the big names?

I have mentioned before that whenever i have seen him he has been cr@p, but i watched one of those Weclome to Chelsea Youtube montage things, which we all know is BS, and there is no getting away from the fact that he has presence and does look rapid although he looked very ponderous when i have seen him on TV. If Pochettino could work with this guy and could see him as his new Kane, the fella is what 6 years younger. It would be a gamble of course and we have a shocking track record in this position, but as you say maybe he just had a bad move and could be a new player with a change of environment. I still maintain that we need a solid focal point up top that has presence. We have plenty of pace, guile and invention buzzing all around. We need a strong presence that holds his position and others can work off of.

I think he lacks a lot from a technical point of view, which is something strikers at top clubs need to be a success. His control in tight areas, passing, and hold up play is very sub par, and it will only highlight further once he's in the Premier League. Sure he can develop and get better, but we already have two strikers we are banking on to develop and get better (Jackson & Broja).

I think the biggest issue for alot of teams right now is the lack of sure things on the market, even Oshimen at that 120m+ price is not a sure thing. Was only a few years ago Vlahovic produced 24 goals in a season, just 2 short of Oshimen who was in a title winning side. Who's to say he won't follow Vlahovics path at his next club. Finding someone like Kane is near impossible and our expectations should be alot less, if we manage to find a good striker that can put it in the net and target 15 goals a season. In my opinion that's a good season. What we need is someone who's reliable, nothing fancy just reliable.

Perfect scenario for me - Kane to Bayern, Thomas Müller to Chelsea - Müller may be 33 but still has a lot to offer. The German Diego. Though won't complain if we sign Vlahovic, for the simple reason he isn't Lukaku. Edited July 10, 20233 yr by the special one

Osimhen is on the market for €120m and no bids have gone in, that should tell you every one is scared of that league. Vlahovic is also on €250k/w, and Juve want their €80m to sanction a deal. In a league where a 36yr old Giroud is still scoring 13 league goals, a couple more than Vlahovic that should tell you all you need to know.

Let's hope Nicolas Jackson impresses Pochettino in training !

July 11, 20233 yr I'd like to believe our recruitment team are wise to this, especially Stewart and Winstanley. Jackson and Broja will be given a chance, and if anything we'd probably go the value for quality option, which would then be Dybala. Can't think of a more nailed on flop than Vlahovic in the Premier league.

July 31, 20232 yr Never rated him. He needs to know he’s second fiddle then because Jackson looks the real deal.
