Forget for one moment the argument about a perceived lack of service. What about his complete inability to physically impose himself on defenders the way Drogba and Mark Hughes could?

Lukaku is a HUGE guy. He also has pace. And yet he is generally unable to hold the ball up under any kind of pressure, win 50-50 challenges or win a good percentage of aerial duels. So often he is on heels when he is facing play and balls come in to him. Technically he is very poor and, to be fair, so is Werner.

Most clubs fans tend to hold player's to standards of price tag/wages, case in point Real fans giving Ronaldo a hard time if he has a few poor games.

With us it seems to be the opposite, the more they cost the more people are queing up to justify their incompetence.

The problem is that Lukaku is NEVER ready to receive the ball, that offside proves it. He's either offside or he never reacts. He's just too lazy and slow to react.

Werner is the expert at being offside, although he doesn't lack for effort.

Those subs are hardly attacking are they

That was my post to send, then the offside goal halted me, but goals when game in my thought process, give Werner a run, ifs that is a fact of Lukaku touches in this game, that is beyond a f**king inept performance from Lumpkaku…

You can never criticise Werner for being lazy or slow to react though. The reason why he is offside is because he is overeager.

Decisive manager with good attacking options

They are playing against the worst side in the league at home. Even we managed to score seven against them (and without conceding first).

Then again I suppose we didn't have to play against Billy Gilmour...

This is an awful run of form - badly hidden behind the wins v Spurs and club World Cup   We’ve barely won in the league for months now.

Lukaku still hiding, this time in between 3 defenders while Ziyech and Havertz try to break down the defense. But of course he puts his hand up as if he can win a header there.

We’ve won a couple of ‘glamour’ cups this season but the decline in the style of play - the passing tackling creating chances etc has taken a nose dive. teams gone from leathering Juve to struggling vs an in 2 bob form Palace. The manager as well as some of the players out there have to take some credit for that slide. This is painful stuff to have to bear tbh. Cant see us scoring today hope I’m wrong.

Would love to know what they work on in training cause we have been awful for months now

basically since Werner and lukaku came back into the side oh no what a minute ………
