Wesley Fofana at Chelsea *Official*

Apparently him and de Jong are our top 2 targets and we are not looking to waste time.

Expect Fofanas camp to add pressure to Leicester this weekend and an 80mill bid to come in soon. Apparently Todd has no problem at all spending this sort of cash on those two each and has the full backing of the top people in Clearlake.

What has he said to them to get them to be willing to stump up such fees?

And they are interested in CHO and RLC

which could help in making a deal

I like Fofana, but that price tag is getting totally ridiculous. £85m.. plus we supposedly have £60m for de jong!

£145m left in the kitty at least.

I would rather spend it on Rafael Leao, Mathues Nunes, and Tapsoba for not far off the same price.

I have to admit I don't know why people are raving about Fofana. Simply because I haven't really seen him play. YouTube gives me an impression of him of course and I tend to trust certain people with their opinion of him. Still I am wondering if he is worth 80 million. I understand the fee is accumulated from his newly made control as well and he is young and promising. Still I feel Koulibaly at 31 for 34m is a steal compared to him. Time will tell I guess.

The other route is to just give Colwill a chance. He is 2 years younger than Fofana. That card is now also used and we seem to be in a pickle. We need a centerback...at least everyone thinks that way anyway.

At one point yesterday we had Silva, Azpi, and Cucu as our back three. Okay maybe not the Borrowers but still not enough height in their for PL strikers and set pieces. We were lucky that Everton were sh*t and as good as Gordon is he can't jump and head for toffee.

We must have more depth and height in the squad. Whether Fofana is value for money, not sure. I still think we might need a CB and a defensive midfielder who actually screens the defence

Fofana is going to be one of the worlds best defenders. Look at it this way: would you pay 45 million extra to have Koulibaly for 10 more seasons (Koulibaly being 31 Fofana being 21) ?

Even if he's not yet at Koulibaly's level and we would be conservative and say he needs 2 seasons or maybe 3 to get there: it still will be 7 seasons that we would have a top top defender.

Also our back 3 being a combined 100 years old we need to get some younger players in. With Colwill and Fofana we have potentially 2 really great players who can play in our defence for years to come.

I imagine the plan is for Colwill to have a great year on loan at Brighton and then come back into the fold to replace Thiago Silva (assuming this year is his last with us), or Chalobah.

Will watch the game, Imagine he gets injured

he'll probably get send off in the first half

that would be some statement

That Leicester are starting him is a big indicator that, contrary to media reports, this deal is not close. It is a big statement from them imo saying we mean it, he is not for sale.

they just want big money

if they didn't play him it would show weakness in their stance

Nah they could have done what many did before, not played him, said his head has been messed up by the speculation etc. Playing him is a statement imo.

Apparently he is playing a very good game so far.

I think Leicester mean it, don't think they will let him go.

Losing Schmeichel and potentially Maddison is a bit much for a club a size of Leicester.

Maddison is set to sign a new deal, he is not going. Apparently Tieldmans is the one going,  to Arsenal.
