Signing Azpi on a 2 year deal has saved us the money we would have to spend on a RWB rotation. Now we can put that money towards Fofana.
August 5, 20223 yr Ben Jacobs update: Brendan Rodgers has directly told Wesley Fofana he’s not for sale. Fofana remains intent on leaving if a reasonable offer tabled. Chelsea expected to test Leicester’s resolve (and financial health) by upping their bid to over £70m all-in. Still told it’s £80m+ or no conversation. Leicester are anticipating a Youri Tielemans offer soon and won’t let James Maddison and Fofana exit in the same window. Tielemans plus one star asset may have to be sold, though. That’s what is giving #CFC some confidence despite Leicester’s current ‘not for sale’ message. Leicester have at no point said 80m = for sale. That is their valuation in the same way West Ham have one for Rice. But only if that amount is tabled will we then see if Leicester change their position. I don’t think a sale is impossible but I do think negotiation difficult.

Apparently, a well-known Leicester ITK source has said that his head had been turned and stuff at training ground has been taken away. May not play at all on Sunday. Same ITK claiming a valuation has been met...

And the other side is that the players start to want to come to Chelsea because guess what, we play well, we compete for titles and we win. No FFP, we are not liked or able to bribe our way past things Ala Barca or PSG, Roman used his personal fortune, he was worth over 8bill when he bought us, none of these new owners are anywhere near that, Clearlake are but their job is to make money for their investors not spend it willy nilly.

August 5, 20223 yr #Chelsea are willing to meet Leicester City’s £85M valuation for Wesley Fofana. Thomas Tuchel's side could test the water with another offer below £85M, despite being prepared to pay the full fee, with Todd Boehly determined to land Fofana. [via @JackRosser_]
August 5, 20223 yr Seems someone already did it chels 42mil/trophy since 2012 next closest is city with 80mil. Spuds divide by zero error. Edited August 5, 20223 yr by smileysmiles
August 5, 20223 yr This signing has a lot of rivals mad lol. People saying we are financial doping because of the signings we made and going against ffp while they watch on as Barca sell their body parts to buy players. And then you have Gary Neville saying Todd is signing players like its Football manager.
August 5, 20223 yr Too expensive! This guy has come back from an injury and played a few games since, was he even that good to begin with? £85m gets you any defender in the world

Gvardiol plus 1, Bastoni plus Casadei from the same club, etc, Fofana will still be great though i think
August 5, 20223 yr Also apparently Barca have until September 2nd to pay for Raphina. Leeds owner explains the whole situation and how he wanted to sell to us.

They were rejoicing at the potential demise of our club a few months ago, now they are realising we have another ambitious owner and not another Glazer or Kroenke like they thought we were getting.

August 5, 20223 yr Author James Maddison will sign a new deal at Leicester City, and will not join Newcastle United. [@alex_crook via @XtraLeicester] i think this could confirm that Fofana is actually leaving

He is a natural leader and a physical beast. Don't get me wrong I rate Fofana but is not like he makes De Ligt looks like McGuire...

When he is such a natural leader and physical beast they should keep him.
