#Chelsea submitted a £60M bid for Wesley Fofana but this has been rejected. Leicester want £80M, with Chelsea hoping for a £70M agreement. Fofana is 'very keen' on joining. [via

80M and 200k a week, this is not the package for a 21 year old, but for a world class defender. I think we are going too far with this. Unlike Roman, Boehly will expect money back, so if this deal alone doesn't work out, it will impact the club for years to come.

Yeah is almost like "does not matter what he cost as Lukaku makes any deal look good".

They are the judgement calls alright. That is what owners and managers are paid for to make the big calls. The only way Boehly gets his Chelsea money back is if Chelsea keeps on winning stuff. His big call was that he has enough money and Chelsea is a big enough club that they can continue challenging in every competition. That's where the value of the franchise lies. That's why I was alway hopeful/confident that we would continue investing in quality players. Boehly has to.

As Lukaku shows signing someone for a big fee and impressive stats means little though.

Especially when they throw their toys out the pram ....Lukaku and Ronaldo it seems are from the same mold.

I really want Fofana as I always have been a big fan of him, but I hope the Daily Mail reports of us being prepared to offer him £200k p/w is not true. It sets the wrong precedent. That kind of contract is one you give to a player who has consistently performed at elite level or one where they have worked hard and continuously improved and then rewarded ie James and Mount who I am sure will get similar contracts. £200k  is a lot of money to offer someone who is not yet considered to be a star player in the team. I mean if that what it takes to lure him here then fair enough. I admire TB ambition in the market, but I don't want us throwing ridiculous money at players to join us.

What about Aubameyang ?

So this may in fact be happening, and soon.

Apparently, a well-known Leicester ITK source has said that his head had been turned and stuff at training ground has been taken away. May not play at all on Sunday.

If he’s doing that then (hopefully) it means we’re not gonna be stupid and drop £80m on him and have restrained ourselves, leading to Fofana now needing to be more direct with them.

Would that be Fabrizio again?

After Todd gets out of the hospital from his Brighton mugging he will probably need to go back after his visit to Leicester. If Cucuerlla goes for 62mill Leicester must fancy their chances of getting 100mill and a beach front property in LA for Fofana

Leicester want 80 m for him and if you are willing to pay that much for a player, the player will probably demand somewhere in 150-200 range.

If the money we paid Brighton then you can guarantee that the goal posts moved overnight...I suspect Leicester will pull a West Ham and demand over £100 mill now.  Todd got fleeced by Brighton, now every other clubs will do the same....transfers have got a lot more difficult for CFC going forward, or at least until we have a sporting director and a good negotiator.

How is this different to when Abramovitch started? And the other side is that the players start to want to come to Chelsea because guess what, we play well, we compete for titles and we win.

We’re not alone in pricing issues. United, City, PSG to name an obvious three. On the radio yesterday even a Newcastle fan was saying every link is +25M on asking price for them.
Liverpool seem to be best at holding lower prices, but perhaps that’s sympathy for Englands darling club.

Take it as a compliment! Negotiate hard and move on. It will balance as the club restructures administrative (football and non-footballing) functions.

Think this is happening for sure now, Boehly's come out and said theyre still wokring on players in the cucurella signing.

Remember folks, These guys firm have way more money than roman, Probs explains the big numbers and in some cases bigger wages

Lets hope they dont go too mental re ffp although last i looked ffp is in a right mess
