they cannot afford him, they sold de jong for 65 million EUROS

so they cant even afford him without selling someone else

also they want Lewandowski who's suppose to cost 40 million

If Raphinha goes to Barca then I imagine dembele is coming to us.

This comment isn't out of bitterness by the way, but I can't wait for a few years down the line when this back handed anti-football sh*tbaggery Barca are pulling with their finances bites them in the arse.

Barca have until September to gather the funds. They sell De Jong to United, there you go.

It is quite clear Raphinha wants to join Barcelona. Whether it is because they are his preferred option or he wants nothing to do with Tuchel and being utilised as a wing back.

De Jong is not even a done deal yet either. So at present they definitely don't have the funds.

Is simple really. If he wants Barca he can turn down all other offers and tell Leeds to make a deal or he leaves on a free in 2 years.

no because that's not enough to buy Raphina

they are supposedly selling De Jong for 65 million EUROS, rest is add ons

also aren't they supposed to buy Koundé and Lewandowski?

There's not a chance he's wasting 2 years of his prime at Leeds on poverty wages hoping a bankrupt Barca find enough cents down the bus seats to buy him.

If Barca can't pay this summer he's going somewhere that can.

What even is the attraction to going to Barca anyways?  They are having financial troubles. . . it's not like they are going to be competing for big trophies any time soon.

They used to be a great team but they don't look like they will be a great team in the immediate future.

Barcelona won't even finish top 6 in the premier league

I suppose the location and prestige of the club, albeit that has been fading since their glory days, Brazilians born in the 90’s will still see that as a dream club in fairness.

Although we’ve had Hazard and others who dreamed of being elsewhere eventually, it depends on the personality to how much of an issue that is going to be. Hazard was a chill/humble guy (to his detriment at times), whereas we don’t know how someone else will harp on about it to the media and how often.

Like Man Utd, Barca are getting by on their name and previous accomplishments.

In other words, Cheating!

Man utd are publicly listed they get money for nothing constantly however that may well fall apart if they keep falling away as traders see a demise but then they'll be guided by the FA and fifa and uefa on how to get around FFP like man city did with sponsoring themselves!!

BArca had more debt than most clubs are worth, The whole club was an actual shambles behind the veil and yet no punishments just straight back into the market pulling all the best frees you can get etc

Everyone moans about the super league stuff but when you really dig down into the weeds this game is so bloody rigged using money its unreal

BArca should of 100% been placed into admin ages ago and man utd are a circus of a club

Dunno how i feel about any player not Kean to sign with us coming from a lower end crappy club like leeds haha the cheek of it, Play out your skin for us and youll be wanted by every giant around! They've come in and slapped a fat amount down for him so if hes dragging heels best we move on asap

Ill hold back until some more news leaks

It's getting ridiculous now. Their finances are a complete mess and if they weren't such an an elite name, they would never be allowed to carry on the way they are.

I can see the big loser in the Barcelona merry-go-round being Christensen LOL.

He'll be begging Arsenal for a job at this rate !

If that is true then we shouldn't touch him with a barge pole ...

No one has published that list themselves however most tend to agree he wanted Barca, Arsenal was the fall back, Spurs an option and he is scared of TT making him a wingback.

Apparently Raphinhas order of preference, reading some reports out there, is:

Barca

Arsenal

Spurs

Staying at Leeds

Us.

According to Matt Law we are his preferred destination after Barcelona.

Full article from Matt Law:

Chelsea are still aiming to complete the signing of Raphinha, despite the threat of Barcelona attempting to hijack the deal if the Spanish club can rush through a cash injection.

Having agreed a fee of £55 million, plus add-ons, with Leeds United for the Brazilian, Chelsea have also broadly agreed personal terms with the offer of a five-year contract worth in the region of £115,000-a-week.

No problems are expected on that front and Chelsea’s new owners remain hopeful they have done enough to clinch the transfer, despite Raphinha’s agent holding 11th-hour talks with Barcelona.

Deco, the former midfielder who represents Raphinha, was spotted at Barcelona’s offices on Wednesday where it is believed he was making a final check to see if the Spaniards could somehow match Chelsea’s offer.

Barcelona have been working hard on a deal to raise over 200m euros by selling off a percentage of the club’s media rights which would allow them to trade again this summer.

A move for Robert Lewandowski has been held up while Barca try to raise the cash and the club are yet to register free transfer signings Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessi, or offer a new contract to Ousmane Dembele.

A bid to hijack Chelsea over Raphinha, who had hoped to move to the Nou Camp, also rests on a cash injection being secured quickly while Chelsea must hope they have already done enough to see off that particular threat.

It is understood that of his potential options in England, Raphinha would prioritise a move to Chelsea.

The plan remains for Raphinha to form a new £105m attack with Raheem Sterling, who Chelsea are in talks to sign, while the club are also making moves to strengthen their defence.

Alongside their talks over Sterling, Chelsea have discussed Nathan Ake with Manchester City and he remains the most likely candidate to succeed Antonio Rudiger on the left side of Thomas Tuchel’s defence.

Chelsea are also holding simultaneous talks for a number of other defenders, including Sevilla’s Jules Kounde and Juventus star Matthijs de Ligt. Should Chelsea sign Ake and Kounde, who can also provide cover in both the full-back positions, then the club could essentially sign a third central defender as well as that pair.

The move for Ake has raised doubts over the future of talented youngster Levi Colwill, who has attracted interest from Southampton and Leicester City.

Leeds have accepted our offer, it’s the player f**king about, stalling over agreeing personal terms.

Yeah but barca don't even have the funds and are being used IMO to get better deals, It makes no sense if he thinks they'll come in for him when they cant even buy lew or ratify free signings, They will have to find a fat lump sum which just sounds like rubbish to me

Bit weird they would bid for a player they're not even sure wants to come etc esp the way they bid with a fat lump sum, Thank Christ we did instalments with lukaku!

Tbh no one had heard of him until leeds had a decent couple months at the start of the season so to think he thinks he can do better than Chelsea it defiantly stinks IF thats the case and this isnt all baiting etc
