Raphinha to Chelsea

They must have a plan since they are in talks with Leeds and Raphinha is not saying yes to us.

Doubt they have a plan, more so Deco just whoring themselves to Barcelona because that's the players preferred destination. I rate Raphinha but if this whole fiasco carries on into next week then I will have my judgements. Would like nothing better if we signed Gnabry, Raphinha comes back with his tail between his legs when Barca can't meet Leeds' valuation, and we tear up his contract and tell him to f**k off.

Chelsea's attempts to sign Leeds star Raphinha have hit a huge stumbling block as Barcelona have reportedly made a fresh offer for the player. Raphinha is also reported to have requested more time to be given to Barca in order for them to raise the money Leeds want for his signature. From the Express,

Confirms Raphinha is requesting Leeds make a deal with so we may as well drop out now as if he wanted to come here he would be basically signed up already.

Might as well bin this thread off, It was getting peak chels for a couple days there but its turned into a damp squid now!

Arsenal and spurs doing better than us atm, Let that sink in boys fffffsss

Have to agree,it's now starting to get on my nerves, this club is in no-mans land at present, all we have is players we already have which some aren't good enough or youngsters who will need time,I feel they need to step back and rethink things.

If he really prefers to go and play in Barcelona, he can go and it's his decision. I think we should not bring players that don't really understand their role in the team and what they're really representing.

He's a very good player and would be very good signing for us, but if he's not 100% with us, then we have to look on other targets.

Walk away, pull the offer from the table. No use being sloppy seconds and having another player here next season  that wants to be elsewhere.

The two don't have to be mutually exclusive, he could prefer Barca and still give his all here if he arrives.

Lukaku is a rare breed, very few players in history are as entitled and unprofessional as him. Furthermore he clearly wanted to come back, the sudden crap about loving Inter came when he realized he wasn't getting the unconditional starting place he felt he was entitled too.

Think we need to calm down a bit the bid was only accepted a couple of days.  The Sterling transfer is still not over the line and that was rumoured a week ago.  It doesn’t seem like Barca are anywhere close to Leeds valuation anyway.

Could be off why would we go in last minute for Richarlison otherwise

I don't like us hijacking moves of other clubs as a way of life. Is it the our scouting department are totally bereft of ideas or what. It's better we sack the lot of them and employ sport reporters cos they will do a far better job than the dross we currently have now

I find it interesting Barca trying to stop us getting Raphina, suggests they're not at all comfortable with the Dembele situation. Looks to me they expect him to leave 👀

Dembele's contract expired at the end of June according to reports. So that means he will be free to move to any club from tomorrow. Barca couldn't afford his wages, let alone a transfer fee and wages for a new signing.

So from Fabrizio Romano's YouTube video, he is claiming our offer of £55m for Raphinha will be paid immediately. No payment structure. This is something Leeds want.

Barcelona can not only match our £55m bid, but their lower counter bid contained a payment structure year over year.

Dembele married last year and is all settled in Barcelona, he’s even publicly gone out and shut down all speculation; just depends if they call his bluff. On the flip side of that, it’s been reported we’re not willing to meet his wage demands, so we probably shouldn’t be so quick to connect the two situations.

poor choice for us if so. Much prefer Raphinha to be fair

Assuming that speculation is correct and Raphinha's first choice is Barca (Which none of know for sure), Leeds had supposedly rejected Barca's bid. Our bid was the only one accepted. Most likely this ends one of these 3 ways:

1) Barca match our bid and Raphinha goes there

2) Raphinha moves to us

3) Raphinha refuses our personal terms and stays at Leeds waiting for Barca to stump up money.

As it stands the first option seems the least likely unless Barca can find a large chunk of cash very quickly. So probably Raphinha will have to decide whether to play the long game and stay at Leeds hoping he has another choice to join Barca, or to move to us.
