Palace v Chelsea (PL) Sat 1st Oct 2022 15:00 GMT

Featured Replies

Kepa - 7 - Made a few very good saves.

Chilwell - 5 - Never really in the game, had to be more defensive because of Palace's counter attacking play.

James - 6 - Had Zaha in his pocket. Couldn't get forward much though.

Fofana - 5 - He was at fault for the goal, improved after.

Silva - 6 - Possibly lucky to avoid a red card, other than that, he played well.

Jorginho - 4 - Never in the game, struggled under pressure.

Kovacic - 4 - Really struggling to get back to his best.

Mount - 3 - Nothing came off for him again.

Havertz - 4 - Too slow to react in attacking areas.

Sterling - 5 - Was heavily involved in our attacking game, but nothing came off for him.

Aubameyang - 5 - Took his goal well, but other than that, he was pretty poor.

Subs:

Loftus-Cheek - 4 - Never improved our midfield.

Gallagher - 7 - Did everything we needed him to do when he came on, great first goal for the club too. Should have celebrated.

Broja - 5 - Never got in the game

Pulisic - 5 - Same as Broja.

Good call. Probably pretty happy his kid did in three minutes what Mount couldn't do the entire game - take on players and set up the winning goal. But, great call on your part. Great call.

Mount is out of form but let's not act like Pulisic is playing any better. Yeah, he played a part in the goal, but I'll need a few more games for him to prove himself.

On we go to AC Milan

Embarrassed to say this, but wouldn't mind finishing last in the group with the fixture congestion.  Concentrate on making top 4 and make a run at the CL next year.

Now please start Gallagher in stead of jorginho from now on

Gallagher came in for Havertz, RLC was playing deeper as he was the one that came on for Jorginho. Get your facts right.

Pulisic never got in the game?  Credit where it’s due, but if he doesn’t make that run then Conor doesn’t get that shot. Oh and he also made the last defensive play of the game.

Not disputing that. Merely stating that Pulisic did in three minutes what Mount hadn't been able to do the entire game.

Stevie Wonder making the grades here.

How many more games does Mason need to prove himself?  He’s had countless more minutes and as many assists as the yank. Check that, in the league Mason has zero goals and assists and one overall lol

3 points is what matters now until Potter can get his ideas across

Problem is though he won't get this length of time on the training ground again this season.  Hopefully they are all on the same page by now and this is just a bedding in period.

Not justifying that he should start, I just find it dishonest that people are comparing a player that was our best player last season to a player that has been out of form for 2 seasons

This was Pulisics 9th assist in the league for us since he signed.

He's in his 4th season.

But even the Yanks can't ruin the beauty of Connors strike.  What a goal. Our midfield has missed that for years.

Dishonest?  At what point does last seasons stats no longer matter?  Not saying Pulisic should start but he’s deserving of more than 10 minute cameos. Same applies to Kai

Tough watch in the 2nd half but happy for Gallagher to get a winner after a bad start to the season for him. Mount, Chillwell, Jorginho and Sterling were all very poor. Reece James the best player by a distance imo.

Best player last season is now the worst player on Chelsea this season, but still gets the starts - riddle me that one, Batman.

So Kai is lighting it up?  Granted he’s had one less season but statistically they are equal footing. Kai is also on pace to pass him in minutes. Tuchel and now Potter seems to give more rope to some and not others.
