August 13, 20241 yr Hot days? I have a sneaky feeling we will get him. Conte/Napoli and Victor has already said he won’t play for Napoli again. Seems perfect.

August 13, 20241 yr Not sure on the source but saw this. Sounds like things are moving in the right direction. “Been told it’s €60m fee plus €10m add-ons including Romelu Lukaku to Napoli for Victor Osimhen. 🔵🇳🇬 #CFC Understand talks are now advancing well between parties than ever. Chelsea offered; ▪️£10m gross per year. ▪️5-year contract valid until June 2029. ▪️100% image rights”
August 13, 20241 yr The deal makes so much more sense with the Lukaku/Conte angle, we’d be looking at north of £100m otherwise, for which we obviously wouldn’t be entertaining. Been burnt so many times by number 9’s it’s hard to get excited; so come what may. Regardless, top player with an elite attitude, the kind of character you want. It’s just a shame about Jackson, but it’s do or die this season, no time for sentiment, especially when he’s not the only ‘raw’ talent potentially being wasted anyway. Come 5 years time, we’ll have a few names to add to the ‘KDB’ list no matter what happens just due to the sheer volume. So not point fretting over it.

August 13, 20241 yr A Nigerian who's never lived in London and been living in southern Italy, this does not fill me with relaxation. I didn't want us to sign Lukaku as he's not naturally skilfull enough, I was proved right; the dearth of quality northern European centre-forwards is enough to make me cry on the inside.

We currently have a Senegalese who's never lived in London until last season. But still he was able to find his way to work each week and popped up with 14 league goals in his first season. Strange post.

With Britosh tax laws Victor would keep 100k? Also been said by more popular journos Victor will not drop his wages by even a single euro
August 13, 20241 yr I know it's just the METRO but article in there saying Mikel and Drogba have been trying to persuade him to come to Chelsea. There was a vid attached but couldn't be arsed...I'll try and find it Edit: oops, I lied, no vid, thought there was one. His love affair can continue for a long long time, and blossom into an amazing relationship. Cant wait to see it all happening in front of our eyes/screens. 🥰🥰 😝

He hasn't proven that, some say he's a winger, I agree with them at the moment. The point I was making was comparing Osimhen to Lukaku, Jackson came for far less money, and is not on Lukaku money. What's making me anxious is shelling out so much money on a risk. Haaland wasn't much of a risk. Edited August 14, 20241 yr by Llangennech
August 14, 20241 yr This transfer has bust written all over it. Stats show a flat track bully and nothing more. The tape shows a low IQ player with awful ball retention which doesn’t mesh at all with what we’re looking to do for Maresca’s system. Instead of shelling out £££’s we may as well attempt to patch things with Lukaku, who for all his faults, at least showed some ability to score. Personally would be more than happy to go into the season with Nkunku, Guiu & Jackson. Guiu especially from the Pre-Season has shown glimpses of some ability ,considering his age, that are worth giving minutes to.
August 14, 20241 yr Spending £70m, taking a £20m book value hit on Lukaku and shattering our wage structure we've implemented to sign what is a younger, clumsier Lukaku would be peak Clearlake lmao

But i can see that any new player to this league will be a risk of some sort as to whether they can meet the physicality. He does look built more for the intensity of our league but i get that there is risk involved.
