We should see him in the squad next season, though I think it's a preseason shootout between Carney and Cassedei. Not so sure about that. Looking at West Hams successes in Europe over the last few seasons, I'm sure that Brighton under de Zerbi will think that they have a good shout at the Europa League next season.

June 15, 20233 yr Santos is said to be one of the 4/5 midfield options we will for sure keep in the first team this season. Enzo Santos And 2 or 3 other options. Could be a spot for Casadei and/or Hall. Edited June 15, 20233 yr by axman2526
June 15, 20233 yr Lavia replaces Jorginho Santos replaces Ruben Caicedo replaces Kante Enzo replaces Kovacic Carney replaces Gallagher Edited June 15, 20233 yr by Sconnie Blue

His passing and crossing have improved immensely. He has also worked on using his right foot. (I wish Chilly would) At 18 he's going to be defensively suspect particularly given his lack of game time over the whole season. I'm interested to see Pochettino's plans for him.

That Liverpool weren't that high energy in fairness. With the way the tactical shift seems to be heading he'd likely be effectively playing CM while we have possesion anyway.
June 16, 20233 yr I like him at LB. Given space and takes advantage of his chance creation ability as an outlet. Always saw him as a Zinchenko type. In midfield just don't see him as an option considering of who we already have. (and want to have).
June 16, 20233 yr i'm more excited for this kid joining the first team than every possible incoming transfer
June 30, 20233 yr Is Santos expected to be in the squad for the coming season? I read a line in a news article that said he and Gusto would arrive after loans, but I thought he didn't qualify for a visa and would have to remain in Brazil until he gets enough international football under his belt.

Pretty sure his visa is now officially approved. Since he didn't qualify for the visa he's played first division football in Brazil and got an international cap. An international cap for Brazil pretty much guarantees you get the visa.
June 30, 20233 yr That’s good. I suspect he isn’t ready to walk into the team and stake his place, but I do hope that he can.
July 4, 20233 yr From the training action shot he looks powerful. Hopefully has some strength like Reece
July 5, 20233 yr Andrey Santos is set to join FC Porto on loan. [via @Record_Portugal] FC Porto appreciate Andrey Santos. However, at the moment, there is no agreement with #Chelsea, who are yet to make any decision over his future. Mauricio Pochettino will make a verdict during pre-season over his future. [via @FabrizioRomano] Would be disappointing to go on loan. Was looking forward to seeing him play.
