FC Porto appreciate Andrey Santos. However, at the moment, there is no agreement with #Chelsea, who are yet to make any decision over his future. Mauricio Pochettino will make a verdict during pre-season over his future.

Would be disappointing to go on loan. Was looking forward to seeing him play.

"Set to Join"

"No agreement"

Honestly, wish these c**ts would just f**k right off.

Hopefully that's a bullsh*t article, coming as it does on day 1 of training ...

One of him or Casadei should stay unless we are signing both Caicedo and Lavia and not selling Gallagher.

This time Fabrizio, it’s NOT happening.

Santos surely will get preseason to acclimate to Chelsea, see what he has, and also supplement the lean midfield.  Only after that will we know if he stays or will be loaned for development.

Given Caicedo and Enzo's injury/fitness record, they will play the bulk of minutes. Santos looked a little exposed against Morocco who play a high intensity pressing game in midfield, so he needs to be bled in gradually to come to grasp with the Premier League. It'll be like how Brighton effectively bring through their young South American players. Hopefully.

We probably need to play him quite a bit if we are only getting Caicedo to reinforce the midfield after getting rid of Ruben, Mase, Kovacic and Kante. The Prem will be a massive test to him but in functioning sides it is never a one man job to defend, maybe excluding Kante, but to help each other and watch each others backs.

Santos is just a boy but he is very highly rated around the footballing world.

He's ready, perfect box-to-box for us now that Kante is gone.

Even for a highlights video that is supposed to make him look good, this wasn't really that impressive. Lots of heavy touches, scrappy and relying on ricochets to win the ball. I'm not seeing much to suggest he is close to being good enough.

He does not look ready to me. We kept getting highlight videos of him from that international tournament a month or 2 ago where some Brazilain guy kept raving about him on here, and every time I watched I was like... Is that it? What is so impressive?

He needs at least a year on loan, if not more.

Whilst it would be idiotic to assume he’s going to be a success after watching one video on YouTube, same could be said for writing him off after watching one video. Pochettino wants to see him in pre-season, so we will have a chance to watch him live and get a better idea of what stage he’s at.

Over the years we have bought many South American players who were prospects, and you would always see the low quality 2 minute videos from them playing against u19 Costa Rica or something.

I don't make too much of it, I wish I could point out examples but a lot of those players just didn't make it. Lucas Piazon comes to mind and he was one of the good ones, if you call it that, he didn't amount to much.

Obviously, the manager makes the call and if the manager thinks he's ready then he's clearly got something about him. Otherwise, I'm not putting any stock into hype or youtube videos about him. And I really hope we aren't planning on relying on him too much this season (which I doubt).

This. This is what is happening. And after this he may or may not go out on loan. Likewise for some of other lads too.

it would be fun to see him next season in our team inho. Pochettino will know what to do.

Barca apparently interested.

Translation:

In pre-season with Chelsea, midfielder Andrey could wear the shirt of another European giant.

The English club and the player's representatives received contacts from Barcelona, who were interested in the athlete's football.

Negotiations are ongoing.

Kid must have something about him given many clubs either want him on loan, or to buy him like Barca do even without him kicking a ball for us.

I imagine had he been snapped up by Brighton they would be asking for 100mill for him in a year.

But he looks a bit scrappy in YouTube videos so he's not good enough for us apparently

Something I wasn't doing, just making a point that in a video that is made to show off his best moments, it seems odd that it lacked anything to show those best moments. What I have seen of him live, which isn't much, I didn't see anything to suggest he would be ready for Premier League football any time soon.
