Arguably played worse, still won. Southgate has a semi final and a final on his CV, the golden  England generation managers could not do that.

World Cup 2018 - Tunisia, Panama, Belgium (group and third place playoff) Colombia, Sweden, Croatia. Won against Tunisia, Panama, Colombia (penalties) and Sweden. Lost twice to Belgium and lost the Semi Final to Croatia. So as soon as he came up against tough opposition, he lost. Sat back against Croatia when England went 1-0 up, and he hasn't learned a thing, he's still doing that today.

Euro's 2021 - Croatia, Scotland, Czech Republic, Germany, Ukraine, Denmark, Italy. Crap in every group game, played well and beat Germany (a German side that were rebuilding) Lost the final on penalties after going 1-0 up and going defensive..........again.

World Cup 2022 - Iran, USA, Wales, Senegal, France. Couldn't get passed France who were sh*t on the day, but Southgate lacked the bottle to let England punish them.  

And if you want to blame anybody for those penalty misses in the final last time around, you can point at Southgate. All 3 of them were subbed on to take a penalty. Who does that?

Well plenty of managers sub on players to take pens but the one manager I would not trust to know about taking a successful pen is Southgate.

What a load of sh*t from Bellingham. Reminds me of United's players thinking they are immune to criticism. You shouldn't be looking to throw it back in fans faces by scrapping a win in the last minute, you should be looking to improve performances because each and every one of you have been terrible from the first game.

England fans are easy on them compared to what fans from Brazil, Argentina, Italy etc would be like if they played like that in every game.

Though Gerorgia is good at counter but this Spain team is  impressive going fwd.

I saw him in mid but saying he can’t play or defend at FB is weird given the attacks he keeps out week in week out. Plus walker was extremely poor too and offered nothing going forward.

God, watching England matches is so dull. Even Cole Palmer failed to make it more entertaining yesterday. What a difference watching Spain play.

Thing is, it doesn't take much for things to change. Bit of momentum and confidence and things just suddenly click, but I just can't see it happening with Southgate at the helm - not unless he finally makes some changes to that starting line-up. We're certainly lucky to be playing again Saturday.
