Oh dear my little Swedish socialist, you really should do a little research before posting. Todd Boehly fits non of your 3 little boxes I'm afraid. Here, i'll save you some time so that you can go burn down some Aristo's summer home. "Todd Boehly made his money in the banking and investment sector. He is the co-founder, chief executive officer, chairman and controlling member of the private investment firm Eldridge Industries. After studying at the London School of Economics, he started to work at Citibank and has become immensely successful in the finance sector." So probably not a scammer but an intelligent man with investment acumen.... Have you voted?

Sounds like a scammer to me.

No. Generally the three most common ways to become a multi millionaire is: 1. being born rich 2. being a successful scammer 3. selling people sh*t they really don't need.
If Todd Boehly was 20 years older, he'd sell defunct used Yugos at a vacant lot in some unheard-of American state. But he turned up just in time for the "new economy"/hedgefund era where instead you can make a ton of money selling broken fantasies and blurred visions.

To believe that billionaires are competent is a politically induced hallucination, present everywhere. Poor people vote for rich people, because they've been brainf**ked into thinking rich people are smart and sensible. They're (generally) not. They just lie better than you do. Unfortunately, football is one of few areas where you can not lie your way to success.

What the hell are you even on about? Jesus Christ.

This team needs such a huge purge, it's going to take several transfer windows to remove them and bring in their replacements.

It's been a long time since my favourite team, regardless of the sport, has so many unlikeable players all at once.

This is from the Mail on who they think should stick or go, surprisingly agree with most perhaps they have visited this forum 😃:

Edouard Mendy - GO

Lost his place due to injury and form and not happy with new contract offer. Would be no surprise if he chooses to move on.

Marcus Bettinelli - STAY

A trusted third choice and new contract signed recently.

DEFENDERS

Wesley Fofana - STAY

Mixed season, in part due to injuries, but very much part of Chelsea’s future.

Benoit Badiashile - STAY

Made an encouraging start and defence looked better with him in it but not being registered for Champions League disrupted his progress.

Kalidou Koulibaly - GO

Not lived up to billing. With sales needing to be made, could be one to sacrifice.

Trevoh Chalobah - JURY'S OUT

Can consider himself unlucky with lack of opportunities. Chelsea should keep him but would be forgiven for looking to exit.

Thiago Silva - STAY

Class act and a genuine leader. As long as he can still perform, Chelsea should keep him.

Marc Cucurella - JURY'S OUT

Been a tough debut season at Chelsea on and off the pitch. Not justified fee but uncertain time to start Chelsea career.

Ben Chilwell - STAY

Extended contract recently. One of the more influential players.

Lewis Hall - STAY

Promising, talented, versatile.

Reece James - STAY

Not even a question. Him and Chilwell on form can transform Chelsea.

Cesar Azpilicueta - GO

Top defender at his peak but Chelsea now have sufficient alternatives.

MIDFIELDERS

Enzo Fernandez - STAY

Talented and Chelsea have high hopes, though record fee invites sky-high expectations.

N’Golo Kante - STAY

Been a big miss through injury and has since shown he remains influential.

Denis Zakaria - GO

On-loan player not done enough to suggest he should be signed permanently.

Mateo Kovacic - GO

Has ability and experience but is in last year of his contract.

Conor Gallagher - GO

Will be lots of interest this summer.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek - GO

Needs regular football and settled position, something rarely afforded at Chelsea.

Carney Chukwuemeka - STAY

Young, and full of potential.

Mason Mount - JURY'S OUT

Fans’ favourite squeezed out this season. Contract stalemate means he should take a starting position if offered elsewhere.

FORWARDS

Kai Havertz - GO

Got ability but also frustrating and best position uncertain. Sale would be understandable.

Mykhailo Mudryk - STAY

Been a disappointment so far, contract length and age make him a work in progress.

Raheem Sterling - JURY'S OUT

Underwhelmed, overall, since joining. Injury plus club and team instability have been factors.

Christian Pulisic - GO

Struggled for consistency of form and fitness.

Noni Madueke - STAY

Signed in January but had little chance to show why.

Hakim Ziyech - GO

Should leave in the summer.

Joao Felix - GO

Clearly a talented player but not enough end product to warrant huge fee.

Armando Broja - STAY

Injury wrecked his season. Will hope for better luck next year.

David Datro Fofana - STAY

Another one for the future.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - GO

Move has not worked out for him or Chelsea.

PS - Chelsea’s need for goals next season is huge. Christopher Nkunku’s arrival from RB Leipzig in the summer will help and Romelu Lukaku is due back. Lukaku’s situation needs resolving — an unsuccessful loan spell at Inter Milan could leave him short of suitors.

That's 12/13 players that need to be sold. Bring in 1 world class GK, a decent midfielder and a world class striker, and we'll be set for many years.

It's going to be a long summer.

Big question for you won't be who "should" leave... but who you are actually able to sell.

Most of these players earn more than they would anywhere else and haven't performed. There won't be along queue of clubs willing to take most of your undesired players.

From the end of the season to June 30th will probably end up being a 160hr work week for the board. Really need a competitive market to make this all possible, otherwise we will just be seeing a sh*t ton of loans.

Preseason is still going to be hectic I imagine.

Terminate their contracts if neccessary. Players like Pulisic and Ziyech offer nothing to the club, and are actually hurting us by bloating the dressing room

If we're lining up in a 3-4-3 next season (suits the team best), I'd go with

New Signings: Rice, Osimhen

Sell: Pulisic, Ziyech, Aubameyang, Lukaku, RLC, Gallagher, Azpi, Havertz, Mount (jf he doesn't sign a new contract), Koulibaly, Mendy, CHO and Sarr, along with whatever loan army deadwood we have left

Loan: Hutchinson, Carney, Casedei, Maatsen, Hall, Broja

GK: Kepa, Bettinelli

RWB: James, Gusto

LWB: Chilwell, Cucurella (don't think anyone would buy Cucu)

RCB: Fofana, Chalobah

CB: Thiago Silva, Colwill

LCB: Badiashile, Ampadu

CM: Enzo, Rice, Kante, Kovacic, Santos

LF: Mudryk, Sterling

RF: Nkunku, Madueke

ST: Osimhen, DDF

That squad would get top 4 easily in my opinion, and would have us in a much healthier position as a club. Our squad's so big I've probably forgot some players though

I am going to go for a more realistic approach of what I think will happen rather than what I want.

Stay

  • Kepa
  • Silva, James, Chilwell, Badaishile, Fofana, Colwill, Gusto, Cucu
  • Enzo, Kante, Kova, Mount, Santos
  • Mudryk, Sterling, Havertz, Nkunku, Madueke
  • Broja

Sell

  • Mendy
  • Maatsen, Chalobah
  • Gallagher, RLC
  • Ziyech, Pulisic
  • Auba, Lukaku

Loan Out

  • Carney, Hall, Koulibaly (Option to buy), Fofana

That's 9 players out and a few loans. I think we unfortunatley have to look at our academy players to generate fees.

Transfers In

In

  • Striker - Dusan Vlahovic or Ivan Toney
  • Felix (Loan)
  • DM - Romeo Lavia
  • GK - No idea

If Southampton get relegated then we should pursue Lavia and I think we could potentially get Vlahovic for a decent fee. We need to be alot more sensible when buying players next season and we should stay away from spending huge amounts of money on someone like Osimhen. I am taking Felix again if we can get him on loan for a full season. I wouldn't spend anywhere near the 80 million euros quoted.

If we let Harvertz go we will regret it.  In two or three years we will be viewing him in the same bracket at KDB and Salah as ones that got away.  Play him as a 10 or attacking midfielder and he will shine, he is not a number 9.  Keep him, play him in a correct and he will be player of the season in the next few years.

He doesn’t have the skill set to play as a 10 or AM in the PL. Sure he might put up big numbers in other European leagues, but without top notch trickery, pace, passing or shooting skills you can’t play that role in the PL.

Why do fans not rate Chalobah? He is probably one of the last players I would be looking to move; squad player, home grown, one of the fittest players on the team that actually puts in extra work in his spare time, and never moans about a lack of game time. He just got an improved contract at the beginning of the season, and has 5 more years left on his contract (+ a 1yr option). Sure we need a lean squad with no European football, and with Pochettino coming in I could imagine us playing a back 4 so no need to have more than 4CBs. Would be smart business to loan him to a PL squad where he plays regular football, and comes back next season to replace Thiago Silva. Hudson Odoi & Malaang Saar can both be sold for £25m, and it will be pure profit.

I would imagine Havertz would be played as a “9” under Pochettino, with Mount playing further forward as a winger if he stays. I reckon we need 2 midfielders; a DM like Lavia or Ugarte (Rice will be ideal but still expect asking price to ridiculous), and a goal scoring CM like Kokcu, Enzo Le Fee or Zakharyan. Toney is probably the ideal pick at CF depending on ban; not sure I would touch Vlahovic because he offers very little outside goal scoring, and Juve will demand €70m+. Hojlund at Atlanta looks interesting and will be reasonably priced, and I like the look of Kudus at Ajax though I think Man Utd are sniffing around him.

I always like a variant take, and you may well be right here. I’ve talked elsewhere about the danger, folly or whatever you want to call it, of judging players based on this year’s performances. A lot of babies are going to be thrown out with the bath water. When we sold Salah, not a single fan batted an eyelid. Fked if I’m going to do that but I’m sure one could find takes on Salah when he was with us that resemble those on Havertz now. On Havertz specifically, confidence has played a huge part in his performance. Someone turns that around and he could be unrecognisable.

Salah barely spent a season with us, where the majority of his appearances came off the bench. Kevin De Bruyne played only 3 league games with us.

Why are we comparing these two to Havertz who has been here for going on 3 seasons now, being a starter the majority of it. He is the same player that arrived back in the summer of 2020.  Zero improvement and a lot of that is down to his football not being tailored to the Premier League. I'd go as far as saying that both Tuchel and Potter did their absolute best in establishing a system that is tailored made for Havertz, yet he still squandered it.

A winger that can't dribble or work in tight spaces.

A striker that can't score a goal.

A CAM that can't unlock passes.

A CF/SS that is slow in possession.

I would happily keep Chalobah but if we need to sell players and raise funds he's one of those players that makes sense to move on especially if we are bringing Colwill into the mix. I forgot he extended but I would still sell/loan if someone came in for him. The likes of Koulibaly on big wages is not appealing for clubs and he won't have alot of suitors and academy players such as Gallagher, Chalobah and Broja are on low salaries and will get 30m+ in fees.

Pretty sure Maatsen has a year left on his current deal. Think its either integrate him next season or sell him.

He's shown absolutely nothing in the Premier league in three seasons to say we'll regret selling him. If he does well elsewhere fair play to the lad, but he's not doing it here.

Also, what do you think his best position is? This gets thrown about a lot without anyone actually knowing after all this time. He's played out wide, number 9, one of two AM's, lone 10, an 8 and not done well in any of them.

There was talk that he hasn't really settled in London, so if that is true then he may well accept a massive wage decrease to go back to Italy, similarly to what Werner did to go back to Germany.

Lukaku went back to Italy and we probably still pay a large amount of his wages. There's no money in Italy.

I do agree that playing him in a false 9 isn't helping him much but we've tried him in different positions and it didn't really make a difference.

I think if it is Pochettino he is likely to want three players to embed his playing style.

Now Boehly bought a number of new players this season whom may not suit Boehlys playing style together with the supposedly done deal Nkunku.

It will be interest to see how this turns out as someone will need to give way or compromise.
