  1. 1. How many of the below players would you choose to KEEP for next season? I have omitted Silva and Azpi as they are gods..

GK - if I have to show faith I will do that in Mendy instead of Kepa. When in form he is a massive upgrade.

defenders- keep one out of Azpi & Silva more for  an ambassadorial role. Sell TC and KK.not keen on Mastsen either or Ampadu.

midfielders -sell Kovacic, RLC, Zakaria one out off mount/Gallagher with santos, enzo, kante, mount & a DM(ugarte?) we are sorted.

forward- sell CHO, ziyech, auba, lukaku, Felix,

Keep havertz, sterling, Madueke, Mudryk, puli, (forward), Broja

loan - C.Chuck, casadei ,Fofana

out:

GK - both Kepa and Mendy should go, they both cannot be trusted if we are aiming to win the league title and CL in the future. Mendy has 1 good run but that’s all about it

Defender - Chalobah, Dave, Fofana, Cucurella, KK, Hall

Midfielder - Kovacic, Mount, Kante, RLC

loan Chukwuemeka out

Attacker - Pulisic, Sterling, Aubameyang, Lukaku, Ziyech, Havertz, Borja all need to go, not good enough.

loan Mudryk and Madueke to hopefully gain some interest to prevent a total loss on value

loan Fofana out for some experience

It should be goodbye to:

Kepa

Mendy

Koulibally

Chalobah

Cuccarella

Azpilicueta

Kovacic

Mount

Kante (sadly now spends more time on the treatment table)

Zakaria

Ziyech

Loftus Cheek

Pulisic

Havertz

Gallagher

Sterling

Felix

Aubameyang

and probably about another 10 that are on loan elsewhere that we've forgotten existed.

Am I the only one worried that we are potentially going into next season with Enzo as our only midfielder?

I'm sure we will sign some but they will still need time to adapt to the league, seems a huge risk basically signing a whole new midfield.

If we could get a midfielder from another Premiership club, he wouldn't need time to adapt to the league.

The ones that would actually improve us are massively overpriced and I don't see why the likes of Rice, Caicedo, etc would join us over Arsenal, Liverpool or United.

I think it's time we moved out Ethan Ampadu. He's a hard worker, a trier, but not good enough for the highest level. Seems to be enjoying himself in Italy. Spezia will probably stay up. Just.

Surprised Sterling has received 30 "stay" votes. Although I don't recognise a few of the names who have voted for him to be kept.

I can only assume Sterling has induced people to vote for him by sending them complimentary Gillette razors. It surely can't be down to his performance on the pitch.

Not sure why anyone would want us to sell Chalobah.

He's homegrown, on low wages, can plug in across a variety of positions, doesnt complain when he's not starting, and when he does get an opportunity he rarely disappoints.

Yeah definitely a good squad player but if the club is offered circa 25-30 million can they really turn it down for someone who’s likely gonna start about 25% of games.

At this point is more of who wants to stay and who wants to go, and who Pochetino wants the board to make an effort to convince to stay.

I see your point, but if he can't be replaced/upgraded for the same cost then is it really worth selling?

Completely agree.

We need all the money that we can get so we can pay 60m for another Cucurella.

I've been reading so much about the state of the Club's finances, FFP compliance, need to sell players, need to buy Brits etc etc, but what is the real truth? Does anyone know the actual true position? The Club's recruitment team obviously do, but there seems to be no articles in the MSM that confirm what our tactics will be in this window. Can anyone point me in the direction of something factual ???

If you have access this article from The Athletic explains quite a bit.

Here is a little snippet from the article though.

They have basically put us in a situation where we have to sell some of our brightest academy talents to get through this.

From my understanding we need to make £92m profit by the end of June to comply with FFP. Selling Mount (£60m) and Kai (£25m) will likely offset the majority of it as Mount is pure profit and Havertz has about £30m book value left on his deal.

They are in this situation because our accounts for the last two years, 20/21 and 21/22, are a cumulative loss of £274.7M, with "only" a £105M loss allowed by PL FFP Rules in a 3 year period. Those ;losses are down to the previous regime and how they were running the club ... Boehly/Clearlake are the ones trying to fix it. The "£600M of new signings" aren't contributing more than about £80M to the 22/23 numbers, due to all the multi year contracts, and associated fee amortisation.

My own very rough and ready and probably totally inaccurate view of the new signings as follows: (in Euros)

The Madueke, Gusto and Badiashile deals look like absolute bargains on this.

Huge questions need to be asked about the summer signings though. £10m+ a year pretty much on Cucurella, Sterling, W.Fofana and Koulibaly (not to mention their wages).

Looks like it took Todd and Co. 6 months to work it out and we're looking a lot better January onwards with signings.

Any idea what the previous regime was doing so badly to get us into this position? I imagine Todd will be trying to boost our revenue quite a bit through his contacts with sponsorships etc.

Mendy / Kepa - in both cases we need keepers that Pochettino is happy with.  Keep both, let both go, not too bothered, both can be brilliant and awful.  Happy to wait for Slonina.

Kante / Kovacic - I'd like to have kept, but sounds like both are on their way. 😪

Aubamayang - Bye, bye

Pulisic / Loftus-Cheek - Bye, bye a few short spells of promise, between injuries. Hope he finds a club that gives him regular football in a less physical environment.

Chalobah - Needs to play, if not going to get regular football here let him go.

Sterling - keep.  I think Pochettino will get him firing (like Deli Ali)

Mount - If he wants to go, let him.  Skillful player, but not a game changer IMO.

Enzo - Let's admire him for the couple of seasons we have him, before Real Madirid / PSG / ... come calling $$$ (we will make a profit on him).

Mudryk - I believe he will develop in to a Hazard-esque legend

Chilwell - Keep, Englands no. 3

Ziyech - bye,, sorry they messed up Janurary transfer

Gallagher - keep, a real Pochettino type midfielder

James - going nowhere

Koulibaly - bye, bye.

W Fofana - keeps

Havertz - if Pochettino can find a role for him, definitely keep.  If we let him go I think he will star in the right team and role (like KDB)

Cucarella - if Maatsen staying let him go.  If not worth keeping as defensive cover/-

Amongst other things, agreeing to pay massive wages. Which, now, hinders the sale process.

Little Raheem should be one of the first to go.
