I dont disagree with what you say but on the replays I saw he was fouled.

I agree - plus it was the experienced player (Chilwell) was the one who played the short hospital pass to Colwill who immediately has a West Ham player on him. Chilly should have just booted it upfield. Instead Colwill loses possession, and Conor has to come across, and IS fouled by Coufal (steps on his foot) to concede the corner.

But our set up to the corner from the left is poor. Our right back Gusto is on the left post. We had 10 players in the box vs 6 West Ham players, and the scorer gets a free header. Despite the selection of 5 defenders, the back post is covered only by Chukwuemeka and Conor, and all the actual defenders are all bunched and easily taken out by a decent deep corner from JWP (Disasi gets a pass as he was man-marking Zouma).

Anyway ... to sum up the whole game, I think the team just need more familiarity with each other,  You can see many flashes of quality, but overall a bit of cohesion is understandably missing.

It is very early days ... it will come ...

Your solutions? Spend another 500 m and buy more attackers + 9 ? With all this spending maybe we woud try for Saudi license to be amongst the big spenders.

It's certainly not bringing back a player who's done nothing but damage the club (unless he's playing against us), I don't have the Stockholm Syndrome

I'm not sure where you get the brown nosing, I have no idea who Valerie is simply quoted a post but whatever helps you sleep at night! He had a very poor cameo but making a snap judgement on the value of a player after 15 mins was in my opinion a baffling position to take irrespective of the penalty after that and I stand by that. If you can't handle other people having an opinion on your takes without resorting to name calling, then maybe a forum isn't the right place to air your views.

Saying not seeing 115 mil player so far isn’t a snap judgement, is it though? Hence “so far”  It’s saying so far I’m not seeing the quality we would expect from a British record transfer from the PL.

You didn’t give an opinion you gave a snarky comment hence the reaction, I always welcome opposing views, like polite disagreement that’s what I do on here if I disagree.

Also note I’ve on this forum far longer than you and never had a cross word with anyone, so I won’t be needing your advice on communicating with your snarky comments and condescending tone, what a sort you are.

Been interesting going through the match posts  pre game through to now.

So many were disappointed with the team selection with new signings not starting. 3 hours later Pochettino was right not to start Caciedo.    Disasi, Colwill, Gusto will also take time to iron out deficiencies in their game.

Also people mentioning 3 at the back for both games. Colwill played left back with Chillwelll playing wide left in the 3 in front of Enzo and Gallagher. That’s why Chillwell came off for Mudryk.

I understand the frustration during the game and think the game changed on the penalty. Had we scored and how much on top we were at the time confidence would have been up and would probably go on and win the game. With a lot of new players it’s going  to take time but I think we will be a much better team and play better football than last season.

I prefer to see us lose 3:1 while playing a 4-2-3-1 than playing this back 3 formation over and over and over... It doesn't work anymore, Tuchel made it work for half a season and that's it.

And specially without James. I don't care put Enzo and Gallagher in the pivot together it wouldn't be the first time wouldn't it? It's still better than playing a back 3 formation.

Every time I see that formation now, it tells me that the manager is afraid of losing and doesn't have belief in his attacking players.

Then get use to the chelsea losing syndrome… if we don’t have an attackers who can finished.

And your solution to our goalscoring issues is a player who didn't score a goal for Chelsea until his 16th game for us, genius!

It's a fine margin at this level, don't take the easy chance and make more mistakes than opposition usually end up in a lose. Our level definitely dropped after the missed penalty, and never really picked it up again. Experience and mental strength are not something comes with youth, just have to bide our time and work on it. There's a good reason most top teams past and present weren't relying on youth and potentials. If we are still in for one more player, better be an experienced player.

Reading some of the excuses for losing vs 10 pikeys is comical. Ever heard of the 5 stages of

The five stages – denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance – are often talked about as if they happen in order, moving from one stage to the other. You might hear people say things like 'Oh I've moved on from denial and now I think I'm entering the angry stage'.

where are you re Clearlake spending a billion plus US $ and nearly a bill quid and after 2 games 15 th while the usual suspects are all there or there abouts ?

are you  denying the owners are a problem and patience over time will see them proved correct in their strategy

are you angry at  them for the situation the club is in  player wise

are you telling/ bargaining with  yourself and other posters that Poch will fix it all very soon and we’ll get back on track this season

are yo depressed bc of last seasons buffoonery by the owners has continued over the summer with another potentially similar season ahead

or have you accepted their performance as acceptable and we or I should🤫🤐 as they’re not going anywhere soon

I wish I could accept but for now I’m not over it, not a glory hunter either Hereford away 76 my first match gone ever since

Personally not over the fact the British government can take the club away whenever they feel like.

No recourse,  nothing we or the owners can/could do about it. If they want they can click their fingers and say Chelsea FC is no more, and there would not be a damn thing we could do about it as the rest of the country would be celebrating.

To answer your questions though @General:

are you  denying the owners are a problem and patience over time will see them proved correct in their strategy - NO

are you angry at  them for the situation the club is in  player wise - YES

are you telling/ bargaining with  yourself and other posters that Poch will fix it all very soon and we’ll get back on track this season  -NO

are yo depressed bc of last seasons buffoonery by the owners has continued over the summer with another potentially similar season ahead - YES

or have you accepted their performance as acceptable and we or I should🤫🤐 as they’re not going anywhere soon - NO and YES, as they are not going anywhere for 9 years.

If Enzo scores that pen, we win. Goals change games.

Quite possibly. But losing Carney was the biggest problem. Even apart from his stunning goal he was getting between the lines, linking the play. We were always dangerous. Mudryk, subbed on, doesn't do that. Nor Madueke. The danger disappeared. Problem was we didn't have a Carney-type on the bench to take over his role. Maatsen might have been a candidate but he has primarily been used as a winger.
