September 24, 20232 yr Newcastle have 2 scored more goals today than we’ve scored all season in the league. Thank god for the 3 promoted teams I say lol. Edited September 24, 20232 yr by 2211

But just incase it is the former you really should be aware there are very very few things that can't be financed in football with one billion pounds. Signing a few proven quality players definitely isn't one of them. Even most clubs in the Saudi league have better players than us and it didn't cost them billions. And you're the loudmouth gobsh*te at work, (probably a local KFC), who is always endless moaning about how "management" haven't got a clue how to run a proper business but have absolutely zero, realistic, credible ideas yourself to actually make a positive change.
September 24, 20232 yr Lukaku already scores 3 goals since he left us 2 for Roma. And Vlahovic also score more then 2 goals how did we conclude we don’t need attackers and everything will Be fine with Jackson on top.

But the difference is under Roman we managed to actually sign the right players (most of the time). 💯 reparto. There are plenty of fans who would have been happy to see the back of Drogba after 3 months. And I know plenty of Arsenal fans who would have personally driven Martinelli to Stamford Bridge two years ago. Hindsight. It's feckin brilliant.

Why don't we build a time machine and go back to snap up a 16 year old Pele, Maradona and Cruyff. And some of those you name checked are not proven at the highest level Leao, Vlahovic, Dembele ? You really certain they are gonna be the bomb in the EPL? I'm not. And two years ago most people were laughing at the suggestion of Martinelli becoming a top class player. And going by your profile you've been a member of the forum since 2012, so why weren't you jumping up and down on here in 2019 telling everyone it was a huge mistake in letting Musiala go to Bayern. In the land of hindsight everyone has 20/20 vision. I don't know about you, but a lot of the "new" accounts on here who I've never seen post before and are talking a lot have been here since 2012, can't help but think someone made a sh*tload of alt accounts. TimesUpPotter must've been a busy man, he must've knew when he needed them. 😅

Why is it always the thick as sh*t tossers that are the most vocal defenders of the current ownerships "strategy"? I don't think we should limit ourselves to younger players there was a lot of talent we could have signed over 25 but signing proven quality players isn't unrealistic. It's what every successful club actually does. I got to say I work in Finance actually for a very reputable company and if I pitched the idea of sacking almost the entire workforce and spending our annual budget on hiring every graduate in the country on long term contracts because we can train them all to be perfect Unicorn level workers in a couple years they'd look at me like most people probably look at you! Was he still right about the KFC though?

September 24, 20232 yr So now I know Todd should have brought M'bappe, Halaand, Musiala, Bellingham and Vinicius for most of our billion and with the spare change thrown in a bit of experience by nabbing Harry Kane off Tottenham. Simples.
September 24, 20232 yr Dreadful miss by Sterling, should have laid it off for Broja or whoever it was on the right of him

We’re in the early stages of a more drawn out period in the wilderness, and I see a decent chance it ends with a forced sale by current owners. And possible relegation if we are nor careful. This squad has absolutely no experience of being in the trenches and digging their way out. The whole squad is completely unequipped to deal with a relegation battle, especially against hardened experienced pros

There is a very real danger we could be sucked into a battle at the wrong end of the table. The kids bought have no experience of grifting out results in the most difficult league in the world, each game is panning out similar. No leadership on the field coupled with poor decisions made off it. There are real vibes of times from the past revisited.

September 24, 20232 yr Seeing the Newcastle result reminded me of when we beat Villa 8-0 under the much hated and reviled Benitez. We'll dish out a spanking one day , keep the faith Come on you BLUES !

The difference being the players mentioned complimented a good squad and weren’t expected to form the spine of the team as we are with the kids bought at present. We literally are expecting young players still very much learning their profession to learn to swim or drown.
September 24, 20232 yr We just need to pray there is a 3rd worse club than us as Lutton and Sheffield are tragic and guarantee dropped.
September 24, 20232 yr No point bleating about who we should of could of signed we have to play the players we have did the manager agree to the players we signed ? as i dont remember and protests More of a concern is after a pre season Our Defence is not solid, Our Attack has very little threat, from Corners and set pieces we don't look like scoring there is no flow to the play

Clearlake may do well on the business end but on the pitch they haven't a clue. Something we feared now becoming realized.

They've renegotiated the wages and the contracts, and are going to save more than enough in goal/win/trophy bonuses to offset the loss of CL revenue for a few seasons. On paper they've already made money !
