Now that's going the other way Andy. No one is saying you leave Palmer out for Madueke. You don't leave Palmer out for anybody.

For a few games I would like to see what @Nibs and @loz have suggested. Play all of Palmer, Carney, Noni and Mudryk. Firstly Poch has to be brave enough to do that, (and I really don't think he's brave enough), and also smart enough to work the in game tactics, (and I really don't think he's smart enough), to rotate them through positions as the game circumstances dictate. But there is a huge amount of skill and pace between them.

I'd leave out Jackson and Caicedo. They and, obviously, Sterling, would be on the bench.

Of course there is no way Palmer gets left put. What I was trying to say was that Noni can only really play right wing, which is where Palmer has been by far the most effective for us. So do you risk stifling him by moving him to lets say a false nine to accommodate Madueke?
Maybe, I’m not sure.
There is an option to try Madueke on the left, obviously, although I fail to see him being effective there

And in any event we have to move on from Silva and learn to do without him. For that reason and assuming he's fit Chalobah starts. Not sure if Carney is fit enough to start but he obviously deserves more minutes at the expense of one of the midfield 3.

I'll be hated but there is a case to start Sterling as the team will benefit from a bit of rotation given this will be about the 3rd game in a week.

Having players fit, more than capable and available only to ignore for weaker,  inferior players because of some "project" mission statement is pure folly. Surely the correct approach is to use the best players available at the given time and let natural progression take place over time. In fact a number of these young talents could benefit greatly from mentoring from senior heads.

As much as Fergie develop a young nucleus that took the Premier league by storm Brian McLair and Mark Hughes were just as important to him as Giggs, Beckham et al.

Whatever lineup poxytino puts out it will be a tough job , Sheffield will play like their lives depend upon it and based upon the last performance, a shambles in defence and midfield  2-2 might be a good result !

petrolvic- good keeper but behind the next 2 no chance of a clean sheet he’s better than Sanchez that’s not saying much though

desasi and Badshialle - would look good in championship, maybe if Wrexham get promoted they’d be interested in the summer

coocoorella - farkin awful every EPL team good or bad mug him off down the left

caicedo - like the manager another South American fraud

Jackson - ditto Wrexham interest or we could swap for Paul Mullins

they will all feature no doubt and therein lies part of the problem

Brighton have Arsenal today. Newcastle has tricky Fulham and Wolves and West Ham play each other.

results for us haven't worked out today...always a problem when you are an inconsistent team surrounded by inconsistent teams mired in mid-table..that's why were are in this mid-table merry go round.   Fulham mostly battered Newcastle today but couldn't score, West Ham are hot and cold and today got lucky and hot.   Albeit we have games in hand...they mean nothing unless you can win them.    Don't expect Brighton to win today, but a draw would put a dent in Arsenal title challenge.

So who is playing false 9 ?

The only left sided player of those 4 is Mudryk, so I guess he'd have to be LW, with Carney #10 and Noni RW ... leaving Palmer as the one out of position up top, or I suppose we could try Noni as false 9 and leave Cole at RW ?

Yes Palmer up top.

I think you missed my point Andy. The potential strength of this IMO is the pace and movement Palmer, Noni and Mudryk have. They could be interchangeable across the front line and that would be hard to defend. Carney doesn't have that pace and movement but he does have a fantastic first touch, close control and good vision. Plus he is a unit.

Yeah, sure. It would be exciting to see, I’m just not sure how to make the pieces fit

Sheffield have conceded 80 goals in the league this season. I don’t see how you can play madueke and Palmer at once.

and I will make a bet Palmer is not up top.

Not what the team will be, but what I think it should be:

Petrovic, Gusto, Chalobah, Disasi, Cucrella, Enzo, Gallagher, Mudyrk, Chuk, Palmer and Jackson. 4231 I personally feel there's never a point in having all 3 of our main starting CMs on the field if not for defensive solidity and balance. Lets face even then we still conceed way too many. We might as well play a dedicated CAM and commit to the out score the opposing team strategy we're already haphazardly trying.

With the pattern we've seen, we'll get 3 points against United and draw 2-2 to Sheffield, you just know it.

I think you’re being too optimistic.

We could easily fall over against these.

Can't believe this isn't on TV in the UK. Not that it will stop me watching it - but that seems ridiculous.

Come to Italy. It's on live here. I'll make you a cappuccino.

Apparently Chilwell might be available, in which case I would certainly start him over Cucurella.

I wouldn’t
