Enzo Maresca - Chelsea "Head Coach" *Official NOW SACKED*

Another manager who has the ability to play a formation that suits the squad would solve most of the issues regarding a perceived imbalance.

The imbalance exists purely and simply because of the manager imo.

His tactics suit maybe 3 or 4 of our players whilst the rest are shoehorned into a relatively complicated system. Excellent prospects have been signed and with the exception of Cucu, Caicedo, and Palmer who has come close to matching that potential? I’d say not one single player. Is that the players fault? Possibly with some of them but I believe Maresca must shoulder 80% of the blame.

Boring sideways football will never win the big prizes. The age of Pep is over and quick, aggressive counter attacking football by other clubs has shown this. I’ve witnessed some god awful football by Chelsea over the years especially pre Roman but this sh*te we’re witnessing now is worse than all of it and that’s with a really talented squad. Some will disagree and say the players are poor but what’s more likely? All of our squad bar 3 or 4 aren’t good enough or our manager is stifling this talent? I know which side I’m on.

Enzo Maresca out. I guarantee the Chelsea job is the biggest of his career and he’ll soon by managing a mid table side in Spain, Germany or Italy.

My take was not really on the formation, but the personnel. The average age of the squad as a matter of fact. Is it enough for a top five finish ahead the likes of Forest or Villa? I think it is, we should finish ahead of those. But is it enough to think of bigger things? It is not, IMHO. Every big club has a mix of young players and experienced ones. Everybody that has played sports at a pro or semi-pro level, or even was close to make it as a pro athlete, knows that being a 20-21 years old athlete is a completely different world than being 28-29 years old. For example take Barcelona at the moment, they are on a roll, but I guarantee that a team full of Yamals and Cubarsis and Pedris would probably be out from UCL already and 15-16 points away from the 1st place in the Spanish League. And they are very talented, but sports simply do not work that way. You need experience and no matter how skint Barcelona are, they made sure to surround Yamal, Cubarsi, Pedri with some experienced players in order to keep the level high and to not implode, because had Barcelona gone the route Chelsea took and the oldest they had played this season was 27, I think they'd be in a real mess now and financally ready to go bust.

This might genuinely be the most united I have seen the forum/fanbase behind the sacking of a manager. And we have had some proper sh*te over the years.

Imagine Maresca under Roman (I know he would never have been appointed in the first place). But when you think Roman sacked great managers like Jose, Carlo & Conte for not being anywhere near as bad as this clown. I used to hate the way we hired and fired but right now, when I am checking the sports news on a regular basis in the faint hope the headline will be "Maresca sacked", I long for those days again.

I was thinking about this too and yea he would never have been there under Roman, but if he was, he’d of long gone with the anti-fan interview! He would’ve sacked him walking out that presser!

I think Maresca had lost the players, and now he’s definitely burnt all bridges with the fans!

Working under that board must be a nightmare! Poch done 5 years under Levy, but lost his sh*t after 10 months with this mob!

People say we’ll keep Maresca as he fits their ‘project’ (what even is that) but I’d put a big wager on that he’ll be off before the club World Cup! This board like new shiny things too much to stick with him!

I don’t agree with Carra on a lot but the link I posted above from Monday night football he says there is a big disconnect between the fans and the dugout which is showing in performances.

I don’t see Maresca coming back from this it will only get worst and worst.

It can all be fixed so simply. NNNJ 2-step plan to getting Maresca back onside.

1) Maresca admits that he has made some mistakes. He doesn't need to admit that all the mistakes are on him, but he should come out publically and acknowledge why fans may be frustrated and assure that he, the club and the players are working to bring long-term success to Chelsea.

2) Publically support the players - big them up, show some love and get them feeling proud to play for Chelsea. Assure them publically that he has cares for their long term development, and that he will work tirelessly to put them in a position to develop, learn and win with Chelsea.

3) He must then put his money where his mouth is - selecting our best players, dropping our worst player (Baddy, Sanchez and Jackson) and building a system and style that is only geared up to getting the best out of them. The heart of the team is James, Caicedo and Palmer - with a very able and sought after supporting cast. This must mean an immediate stop to the negative, sideways and backwards football - and allowing the team a bit of freedom.

Why did we give him a 5 year contract? it makes absolutely no sense.

It was one of his conditions to join. He wanted it as a show of faith and acknowledgement that it takes time to implement his much vaunted style.

This guy is a clown.

Blaming the atmosphere for 2nd goal is such a joke.

The fact is, we do play long at some point in every game. So the fact Sanchez went long in that moment is not an alien concept that the team had no idea how you deal with. It was another awful kick from Sanchez straight onto the Ipswich centre backs head, and then the positioning and reaction from the team was awful.

He also fails to mention we nearly conceded moments earlier from playing short from a goal kick, again it was another terrible kick from Sanchez.

Take some responsibility you cretin. You pick the team, Sanchez does not need to start.

Then you got clowns like Carragher saying there is a disconnect, but the media don't think we are entitled to be disgruntled because we were 4th for half the season and we have spent a £1.5B.

Maybe when the points deductions start after massively overspending on sh*te, the media will actually start to validate the fanbases concerns.

Worrying times from top to bottom. This ownership are gambling with the existence of the club. How long do we reckon we can get away with making poor decisions with recruitment at managerial and squad level, while missing out on champions league, and no even securing shirt sponsors.

IF HE WANTS TO GET THE FANS ONSIDE, PLAY 3-4-3 INTHE NEXT PL GAME, TELL THE FB'S TO PLAY LIKE WB'S (STOP THE STUPID INVERTING), PLAY PALMER ON THE RIGHT AND TELL THE PLAYERS TO PASS THE BALL FORWARDS AT ALL TIME UNLESS PRESSED, OH AND DROP THAT C**T OF A GAOLKEEPER

Some of the Leicester fans were booing him & his style of football towards the end of last season but he stated he would never change.

He is very, very stubborn. !!!

I just made this very same suggestion in the nicolas jackson thread - and got shouted down by @Ukraine Bolt

I think it can be stretched out even wider than that. It's not just a disconnect with the dugout, it's a lot of the players, the sporting directors, and the owners themselves. The only affinity the fans have are with themselves and a few of our own like Chalobah and James. But even then, James is no Terry, he's the quiet type, and he's injured so much that we barely see him, and the club wants rid of Chalobah.

This is what annoys me most when I hear from people talking from the outside.

You have clowns like Simon Jordan saying we are embarrassing ourselves by protesting, other media outlets and annoying Youtubers saying they don't get it and that we are ungrateful. They haven't even tried to understand the situation we are concerned about.

Your entire point was you wanted 2 strikers to get the best out of Nkunku.

GK

CB CB CB

James Caicedo CM LWB

Palmer ST ST LW

Let me know when the error of your ways becomes obvious.

He’s their man, after their extensive managerial hunt. So in theory, if Maresca goes so should they.

If Maresca does get the sack, it will be for nothing if they don't go with him.

Don’t think I ever said we should play with an extra man…..perhaps we should try….
