Sanchez and Fofana need to be phased out in my opinion. Same way as Enzo.

Also am I the only one who see how vertical we are. Sometimes 3 passes are we are in behind running at teams back four.

Even with Leicester I mentioned when we appointed Maresca that at times they were quick in the transition. 
 

 

Maresca has called out plenty of players since he's been here, why is Sanchez so special? He can pull out a performance like he did the other week with some great saves but today it was normal service resumed. Why is he immune to criticism? Sanchez is a complete liability and, quite frankly, f**king sh*t.

Hopefully Jorgensen just makes the most of the chances he gets.

Different players respond differently to criticism or to praise. I believe Maresca is encouraging Sanchez to keep his confidence up. So I think its smart management but deep down Maresca realises that our goalkeeping is an issue atm.

Agreed, but need a defender to step up, either Fofana himself or one of the others.

Don't think Tosin is capable, so that leaves Disasi.

Disasi isn’t going to be here next summer. Nor has he even showed to be good enough.

I don't think Fofana, Tosin or Disasi are good enough. Fofana is too erratic, Tosin and Disasi are squad players at best, then there is a Badiashile who I think just isn't reactive enough for the top level. Our recruitment when it comes to CB and GK's has been awful under the new ownership.

ChAloBah kept a clean sheet against the spuds today alongside former academy grad Ghuhi.... Chalobah should still be here... Anyhow, I think Maresca is working with what he's being given and told... So not on him this one. 

Maresca finds ways to keep us going. Impressed a little more each game.

To be fair lads if Badiashile and Disasi had played at CB as badly as Fofana did today, and Colwill did the last two games and Tosin did at anfield, they would be slaughtered on here.

Agreed our CB are not good enough, colwill is the hope.

Fullback with Cucu and a fit Reece is solid at least. We need to address our keeper and the middle two though. 

Our forward line has everything we need to make top 4, our back line has everything to take it away.

Nowadays I'd say it's pretty tough to find the type of CB that works in our team. We need a CB that is comfortable with ball to feet, good passer, tall, strong and athletic.

Those types gets vacuumed by Real, Bayern, City soon as they reach that level

And last week he assisted for Wood's winner.

I would prefer for him to stay over a Disasi for example but he's no mroe than a good squad player and that's it.

Felt like it was a big, needed for him and the team to beat a top 4 rival. Still work today in terms of defensive work. We can all see that’s the area that needs working on. Far too easy to score against us. We were fortunate that Newcastle can’t seem to score. 
 

Good weekend for us overall with United, Spurs, Villa, Liverpool and Brighton all dropping points. In terms of those who might challenge for Champions League, there’s at least a 5 point gap. I’m not counting Brighton or Forest as I expect them to fade. Top 5 might be enough for CL this season given the coefficients as well. Just need to keep momentum going.

It was, but he also needs that away win at United and a home win ofver title chasing Arsenal.

Cannot be overstated just how important beating those two is.

A good time to play Arsenal too. They have injuries. Gabriel got injured today and not sure on the severity. Odegaard, who they clearly miss will not be back until the international break according to Arteta. They have a game against Inter at the San Siro a few nights before which they will not be able to rotate much. We haven't beaten them for ages and about time we further derail their title chances.

Beating both United and Arsenal would be incredible.

Beating this Utd is possible and should be a must but, how many times we’ve travelled to OT under the same situation only to miserably loose to those lucky feckers? Arsenal at home is possible to win but it’s not a must, imo. They are further as a team and, despite not being at their best, they are still going to be top 4. We need to sort out our defensive phase, when we are shambles, and we’ll be alright. 

United are so bad but they can be tough to beat sometimes. We really should carve them open though. As always it’s whether we can defend or not. They do have goals in them. 
 

Arsenal will be tough as they are a nasty team. I fear we might be a little naive and be bullied by them. I remember when they beat us under Potter - one of the worst and wimpish performances I’ve ever seen.

What's it been, 11 years? Sometimes we have been awful and deserved to to lose. No matter how good we have seemed to be, and how poor they are, we just have not been able to get it over the line.

Incredibly rare for a manager to publicly call out his goalie and given the nature of the position, rightfully so.

For me there's a difference between calling players out and not saying anything at all, fair enough if he doesn't want to publicly criticise him, but with comments like this he's pissing on our heads and telling us it's raining. The fans can see that he's the weak link in the team and it's frustrating seeing him take swipes at players like James, Noni and Mudryk yet the player who's noticeable making the team weaker is getting smoke blown up his arse.
