Hoping this one is bollocks.  Not sure what the plan is do we need more midfielders?  Thought this was the area we needed to spend the least amount on.

 

 

He will be the greatest midfield player we have had since Danny Drinkwater.

Not sure if he is needed but I actually like him and I think he is a very good player.

I’m up for buying him, especially if he is the managers choice (which I’m assuming he is), I’m just concerned who could be going the other way and who it effects in our squad.

Definitly looks like this is going to happen. Almost certainly before the end of June as well since Leicester need the cash for PSR purposes.

I think Leicester value him at £35m but Chelsea and either looking to involve players in the deal or Todd (the loophole) Boehly and Leicester will do separate inflated deals.

If we can use him to get rid of the likes of Fofana and Casadei then it would be a good deal. 

Looks another PSR move, though this one will more benefit Leicester than us.

DD Fofana and Casadei the players being linked with going to Leicester, separate deals I would expect.

I was never quite sure what possessed you to buy DD but he's way better than Drinkwater !!! He is a very hardworking attacking midfielder with a pretty decent skillset.

 He fits in well to the Maresca system.

If he comes here what will be interesting is where does he fit in?

On the bench? On left wing or right wing?

If so he has Nkunku and Palmer to compete with. Nkunku can play left, and Palmer right, but neither are pure wingers, which Maresca needs in his system no?

I dont see the problem with this, it wont be the fee idiots are throwing around in the media anyway. 

Bringing in a player Maresca trust will help speed up his implementing his style of play.

So, he is great in the Maresca system - which we still do not fully understand what that might be, but KDH comes into the squad and Casadei leaves and perhaps Conor is still leaving us too? But KDH was about to sign for Brighton and then we came in at the last moment and Gazump the deal, which means the whole thing was an impulse purchase or had the club and Enzo the Elder been planning this all along?

AND if "Butch" Casadei is leaving what does that mean for the Santos kid?

Yes attacking central midfield .  He is not a natural winger by any means.

You are 100 percent correct in that Maresca utilizes 2 wingers in his system 

He starts with a back 4 but one of the 4, then  usually the LB or RB will move forward & play alongside the single DM when his side has the ball. Then two attacking midfielders, 2 wingers & 1 striker.

He’s not like Drinkwater, he’s more attack minded, I honestly think he has the potential to be better than Maddison, which is a better comparison IMO.

If the deal goes through I think people could be pleasantly surprised how good he is.

I’m on board with this one and hope we can get this done.
