Villarreal signing Partey? Yuck.

Disgusting that any club would touch him until his legal situation is cleared up.

Disagree.

Players should still be able to play when accused. It is not fair in the situations when they do get proven innocent as has already happened.

If he is proven guilty then I'm sure his contract will be torn up.

I would be absolutely disgusted if he played for us with this hanging over him. I imagine a few Arsenal fans feel dirty for cheering his tackles/goals over the past few years.

Obviously, it's up to the court to make sure justice is served. Which it always is to rich and well connected celebrities.

Innocent until proven guilty.

Remember the accusations levelled at CHO a few years ago?

I wouldn't be disgusted until the player is proven guilty.

In Partley's case I don't think it would go this far if there wasn't some strong evidence against him, might not be a slam dunk but probably guilty one 1 count I would imagine. Others like Sigurdson have had their career ruined and image tarnished over false accusations.

I'm not asking for the death penalty, but imagine how him playing for three years made the alleged victim feel.

These people are protected by the system and the club, we all know it. Add to that the disgraceful % of sexual assaults that go unpunished and it's hard not to be disheartened at it all.

Totally different. CHO was arrested and cleared within a month and was never charged. Partey has been officially charged. I agree that in past players have been charged and when it gets to trial, they have been found not guilty, but being charged officially is quite serious.

Im seeing posts everywhere about this Rio kid we let go to Liverpool. He's just got a goal and assist in a friendly today.

I knew nothing about him but the hype seems real. Have we made another Musiala mistake? Going for Gittens when we had a generational talent?

Someone help me understand this.

Ngumoha left us last season, around this time. We tried keeping him, but he felt Liverpool offered him a better development plan and I can't blame him. He already started a cup game for them last season and has featured a few times in pre-season so far and impressed. Gittens joined us this summer. But, included in The Guardian’s Next Generation 2024: 20 of the best talents at Premier League clubs series. Very small in stature but has a low centre of gravity and is nimble-footed. Suspect we will see him quite a bit this season.

Plenty of rich and well connected celebs are in prison . The jury will decide his guilt or otherwise. If guilty he'll get banged up for a long time, in accordance with sentencing guidelines. Pleading not guilty is gonna get him a longer sentence.

But I really can't understand why anyone would give him the opportunity to play for them, even though technically he's not guilty of anything.. yet. I wonder how their fans feel about it ?

There is opposition.

He had the full backing of his club, which comes with huge legal protection and misdirection. The common man would already be behind bars.

Just look at how City fixed things for Mendy.

I hope the Villarreal fans make the feelings known.

CHO was released instantly.

Partey's case has been ongoing for 4 years, evidence is online for all to see from the victim and CPS have found enough to go ahead with it.

Other than a very good lawyer, he's as guilty as sin. He's a disgusting human and Arsenal are a disgusting institution for protecting him for all these years.

Hang him.

How did the club protect him ? They surely have no influence on a major police investigation, and I can't see them even considering it. The original investigation came to nothing, ( I believe ) but the new one has resulted in very serious charges and an upcoming criminal trial.

If the club interfered or delayed the investigation in any way, I'm pretty sure the old bill would be considering charges against Arsenal.

I agree about the Villarreal fans , I hope they protest against the club bringing him into the club.

They could go about it with some dignity given the evidence available.

United literally shunned Greenwood from entering their facility until the investigation was complete. While even though his GF dropped the charges, there was still enough evidence to suggest that allegedly she and her father (disgusting piece of sh*t) care more about their futures financially set over bringing their assaulter to justice.

Even City suspended Mendy until his contract expired.

A billion pound entity has no influence on political or legal proceedings? I wish that were true but they have a lot of weight to throw around. They played him at every opportunity, knew all about every step of the case and did it all anyway. If I were the victims dead I'd want heads on spikes.

Classless, but we already knew that about those furlough abusing Gunnersaurus sacking prats.

Seen that the Hartlepool owner has requested Jeff Stelling not be allowed into the corporate boxes at away games after their little tiff.

It’s the level of sh*thousery Non-League is so magical for and something I fully support cos Stelling is a boring out of date c**t.

Have to disagree. Might now always agree with him but Stelling is a decent presenter / pundit. Has raised a sh*t-load for charity and is a whole lot better than majority of presenters / pundits - especially the likes of Carragher and Ferdinand and some of the female ones.

Can’t fault his charity work but when he’s on talksport I turn off. Really felt he should’ve just retired when he was pushed out of Soccer Saturday, a bit like Kammy, his heyday is gone.

Just find him so jarring and boring in comparison to Brazil/McCoist in a morning.

Top class. The EFL should hang its head in shame over the Morecambe fiasco.

They are a National League ( non league) club and it’s that league that has suspended them.

The problem is that clubs at NL level will idc come under the control of the Football Regulatory Control the next level down won’t and there are dozens of clubs at that level that are under threat.

The EFL moan like hell about getting a bigger handout from the PL yet the EFL give nothing to the NL its only because the PL contributes significant money to the non league structure.

I saw a stat somewhere that for a club can’t remember which one but when they were in EFL 2 the monies that they got from central funds subsidised the equivalent of 50% of the ticket price every one that attended in a season.

Sadly football outside the PL simply can’t pay its way.

The costs involved at say Morecambe just to pay to run their club are costing on average £30k each week more than they earn. Or what about Yeovil another NL club who have over 140 on their payroll.
