Chelsea vs Manchester City (PL) Sun 18th August 24 16:30 GMT

Totally expected City to score a 2nd and put this to rest and they did. Even a subdued City is far better than where we are right now. Maresca has his work cut out.

Poor. We’ve been pretty disorganized since the second round of subs.

Don’t close down. Breezed thru our midfield.

Pretty disappointed by what I’ve seen today. Haven’t really been a threat.

Kovacic better than our midfield and yet everyone thought we upgraded with paying gazillions, what a boring opening match this has been...

City are just cruising........don't you see the issue with that? That is why we are so sh*t. This is easy for City, we haven't even tested them. Nothing like the 4-4 last season.

I see it, believe me. Still think we’ve been decent actually, given our chaotic changes to personnel.

Eh, not as bad of a start as I was expecting to be honest. Pretty hopeful for the season.

Terrible all the way. Caicedo and Enzo being left in the dust. Colwill backing off and what the hell is that positioning Sanchez?? Colwill rightly fuming as Kovacic has one spot to hit in that goal.

Fofana passes it straight to kova - f**king awful

That wasn't Fofana's fault. He was put in a horrible position because we were messing around at the back. Then both Caicedo and Enzo shirked out of challenges

That’s criminal from Sanchez. Routine save. We’re in for a really dull and disappointing season from this showing.

Any of you taking positives from that, give your head a wobble. Your standards are on the floor. The Bridge is dead silent, the club feels lifeless and boring, and this is the type of football we have to put up with for yet another season. We are supposed to be one of the top clubs in Premier League football, we're at home, and we haven't even created a genuine chance on goal. It's been sh*t.

I get that - but passing it to kova wasn't the answer!

Just put it in row z

Leicester fan here in peace (Chelsea have been my 2nd team since the 90s)

I think given more time, EM with the quality Chelsea have may work out but fans will have to be patient with the football played.

Like at LCFC, it could get very pedestrian, rigid and easy to get caught out of position, but some of that might be due to lesser quality players.

Our striker was a passenger most games, almost a back to goal 10 than a 9.

Eventually all the championship teams figured us out, worryingly then EM had no real plan b,c etc, leading to the player only meeting where EMs way was basically dumped (EM was miffed post match a few times after this, didn't matter we starting winning again, he was down on our style.

Ps subs *cough cough* best left as distant memory lol
