Palmer was crap, btw. Madueke should have been on at some point in the second half.

Expected better than that. Didn’t really look like a team going forward. Things slowed down and got isolated too quickly.

Patience is called for.

Where's the fire? the energy? the will to win and look good whilst doing it? All of the spark has been suffocated out of the club. All of the clubs we expect to compete with would have put up more of a show today, we just played the game like it was a pre-season friendly. This was almost identical to the worst of Potter's era, last season's opener against Liverpool was so much better than this.

Actually thought we did ok and 2-0 flattered city, the way the commentators were going on creaming themselves over city was way over the top, had we taken our chances and had a competent goalkeeper it could have been very different.

The fact that many of us are happy that we at least didn’t get smashed 5-0 says it all.

Caicedo seems fine when Enzo isn't around. Also showed he is a good fit for the PL at Brighton.

The problem for me is Fernandez. We've paid nearly £110m for a £45m player who simply isn't working out ...

We probably need to cut our losses on him (and Mudryk) (and Sanchez) (and ...  ) but of course we won't  ... 🙂

City were in cruise control and didn't even have their entire first team on the pitch. We never looked like beating them.

Atleast poch gave us hope against these bigger teams

I thought that was a very flat start. The Bridge was flat, we did nothing in attack. It looked so comfortable for City I'd really worry about the culture being set by Maresca. No fight ugh.

Early days. Hopefully Maresca can sort this team out. As far as I'm concerned we just lost to this season's champs. Servette next then away to the Dingles. Cmon Chelsea!!!

Once he'd made 4 subs in 3 sub windows he couldn't make a 5th as you only get 3 sub windows ...

Nah City didn’t even have to get out of first gear. 

We were woeful and our attacking play was an embarrassment. City could’ve won this 3 or 4-0 without breaking a sweat. 

It’s bad.

Our defence was much better that usual, much more organised
