He is heads and shoulders above anyone else the best young defender in France, and with Konate, Fofana and Yoro all an injury-risk I would not be surprised if he is in France's WC squad. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if he replaces Wesley Fofana for club and country. He is clearly talented but we are talking about France here. He currently doesn’t make their U21 squad, how is he going to swing a World Cup place?1 hour ago, The Boehly Babes said:Exactly this. We’ve signed him because he has the brightest future of any of the Frogs and thanks to our multi club model we can do it at a price/wage that suits both clubs and prevents losing the talent itself. No one is disputing this but signing him and then loaning him back to Strasbourg smacks of not having a plan. Off my head we currently have 9 first team CBs on our books here, what is the plan for a Josh, Anselminho, Sarr here. All 3 are definitely talented but will struggle to reach their full potential because the club doesn’t have a plan.
July 21, 2025Jul 21 Author I thought he was staying because he was given a proper squad number. In truth it is best he remains at Strasbourg just for him to further develop and to see if he can eventually replace Fofana next season. As Sydney has mentioned, the lad is rated highly in France. Another Umtiti.
July 21, 2025Jul 21 I think either Trev's performances have made him a mainstay for Maresca so he has become kind of untouchable, or they have tried to shift Fofana to Marseille and no dice. Add that to the fact that all of these clubs that are in for Disasi, don't actually seem to exist and Sarr and Anselmino become the paths of least resistance for moving around.

August 12, 2025Aug 12 I can see us recall him back from loan if we pickup injuries, like we did with Chalobah.

Saying that, last year they allowed Santos to stay when our midfield was thin, so there is always one eye on the long-term greater good.I think this is a chance to get a top level CB. Not sure who that is, but would be a wise move.

Huijsen would have been perfect but we dithered and allowed Madrid to swoop in.14 hours ago, Clown Lake said:I can see us recall him back from loan if we pickup injuries, like we did with Chalobah. Not even sure club sees him as a future first team player. He was just bought to prevent any other PL team having him. They are going to do the same with Emegha before the season ends, and got rebuffed by Doukoure

February 1Feb 1 Looks like he’ll be recalled Monday. Anselmino finally given in to going on loan the other way. We’re also still chasing this Jacket kid,Forgive me if my Math isnt Mathing but how many ‘young’ CB’s do we now have? And are any actually better than Josh?Let’s say we’re backing ourselves into clearing out Disasi, Tosin & Badiashille this summer. We’re left with:Colwill, Fofana, Chalobah, Acheampong, Sarr, Anselmino & potentially Jacket. This recruitment just continues to baffle me.

Gave all of them far too generous contracts for their actual ability, which makes them unaffordable at the level of club that would be a good fit for them, let alone for the likely fee that BlueCo are going to be asking for ...
February 1Feb 1 Author The only CBs I see leaving next summer are Chalobah, Tosin and Disasi. In Tosin's case they'll sell him at a fee that likely includes his remaining wages + some book profit. Badiashile is just unsellable and is weirdly rated at the club. Well its actually not that weird considering the same decision makers spent 7 months watching Garnacho's OnlyFans. Colwill, Fofana, Sarr, Badiashile, Acheampong.
February 1Feb 1 Next season I'd like:Sarr, Anselmino, Kenny Jackett (if we get him), Josh, ColwillSellDisasi, Badiashile, Tosin, Trev, Fofana
February 1Feb 1 Honestly if Strasbourg make Europe next year could see selling both Disasi and Badiashile to Strasbourg. Both French, the wages would be towards the top, but I could see them being a decent duo in the French league with consistent play. The more experienced players there it would serve Strasbourg to start feeling like their own and help develop our loanees. Just turn them into the AC Milan of France.
February 1Feb 1 Strasbourg is where he needs to be, and needs another season or two of polishing his game. Vibes of Badiashille, and mistakes will get punished in the PL.

We don't presently have anyone who can mop-up long-ball counter-attacks whether they are in the air or on the ground. His weakness is playing in weird tactical systems, he would have sucked under Maresca. He's not going to get better playing against farmers in the French league. Colwill, Fofana, Acheampong, Sarr and Chalobah are a very good quintet to choose from.
February 2Feb 2 I watch Sarr clips and all i see is Badiashile. Concerning, hopefully i'm wrong for once.
