Nope, the football today was dire and he can f**k right off. If Liverpool turned up we'd have lost that.

I genuinely don't know what game you watched? I disagree with you on most things, and this is just another instance.

We were so much better today than we have been for a long time. Playing the ball forward more quickly, playing with more speed and cutting out the minute upon minute of cb's knocking it about between themselves. It doesnt make up for the damage he has done through the season, but it was much better.

Sometimes I think you say things just to be contrary....

Did we watch the same match? The tactics were brilliant and we got the job done.

The defensive tactics were abysmal in the 2nd half, the players deserve all of the credit for dragging us over the line, especially Palmer who looked back to something like his best. Liverpool were dominating us on the wings and the defending from set pieces was terrible. They probably should have scored 2 or 3 goals themselves. We needed James on much sooner and Caicedo in midfield so he could help Cucurella instead of leaving him exposed to Salah. Sancho coming on for Jackson as the first sub was an odd choice.

Whilst I thought we were great yesterday in responding to Liverpool's threat I am not convinced that this was the managers tactics.

Maresca's gameplan is always control. We had 35% possession yesterday. Either Maresca has done a complete U-turn on his philosophy 34 games into the season and played to our players strengths for once or we won in spite of him.

I think a little from pot a, a little from pot b. At the start it looked like we had a genuine game plan to move the ball forward more quickly. There were some noticable longer balls forward, and we generally looked to be playing quicker. As the game progressed and liverpool got into it, we sat deeper, and had to dig in without possession (something I dont think was in the gameplan, or Marsecas instructions).

Bang on. My thoughts exactly
