September 1, 2025Sep 1 I think it was a pretty solid transfer window with a small positive net profit.Managed to offload Felix, Nkunku & Jacko. Got Chilwell a home in Strasbourg. Only Sterling and Disasi left in the bomb squad. Unfortunately, they have 2 and 4 years left on their contracts. Maybe should have signed a keeper, but Sanchez seems to be improving. I would have preferred Simons over Garnacho, but time will tell.Pedro, Delap, Estêvão, Hato & Essugo look like good signings, and Gittens has a lot of potential.Overall grade IMHO: A-
September 2, 2025Sep 2 We’ve upgraded in some positions, we’ve downgraded in some positions. The 2 biggest issues from last season however still remain and that’s Sanchez & Maresca. In a season where the title is so easily ours, we’ll blow it thanks to those 2.
September 2, 2025Sep 2 Obviously we don’t quite know how the figures are completely made up but it shows how tight things money wise give our outlay.
September 2, 2025Sep 2 So they've recalled Washington......why?Is something else going on that we are not aware of? We're concerned about the striker situation since Delap got injured, but Guiu covers that, so why bring Washington back? I hope this doesn't mean it's Palmer's injury that is worse than originally feared and Pedro will need to be the one to fill in for him until he returns. Also, what about Mhueka? It's like our directors are just ignoring this academy of ours entirely.

Santos as a club is in total disarray, fighting against relegation and Washington hasn't been on the pitch that much and they have zero incentive to play him as they won't generate anything else from him. Better reintegrate him into our youth teams.
September 2, 2025Sep 2 We’re still below, or above Brighton in the net spend table……the dream is over!😩

September 3, 2025Sep 3 Other than up front where let’s be honest having Jackson on his own last season we could hardly fail too but I don’t see any great improvement. There has been a lot of player juggling, how much credit should we give the club for offloading failed purchases(not all)is each to their own I suppose. All of that f**king about has left the manager with an inexperienced squad with many new faces to integrate still lacking in key areas and we haven’t even covered the fine?Someone want to explain to me why this has been a good window. I’m glad it’s over tbh.
September 3, 2025Sep 3 Amusing that they've felt the need to decimate the attack for two seasons in a row, off the back of 103 goals in 51 games in 23/24, and 137 in 64 games in 24/25 (92 in 49 excluding the Conference League).
September 3, 2025Sep 3 That's the model of these clowns, making money buying and selling players, that's why the turn around of players every season. This time next year, we'll be millionaires, Rodney....

I’m glad it’s over tbh.sadly i have to agree,it on face value looks like a good window with a number of exciting new players coming in and with a few duds or misfiring ones leaving but inexperienced players need integrating and we still have weak areas GK and defence. The focus from the club is profit, net spend and keeping within spending rules/limits. which theyve achieved in the main.I wonder if we will churn the squad so much if we become more successful ie will we sell our good/ in form players when the duds have all gone.whilst it seems exciting ( and i have to admit to being quite lifted by the new players coming in ) im not certain it will lead to success on the pitch. Other top teams Citeh, Arsenal and Liverpool dont process so many players (or dont seem to) as us.We are gathering a fair number of prospects in the background and at Strasbourg and im hoping that will become the mainstay of our squad changing but im not so confident it will.My hope is that our need to achieve top 4 status for the Champions League money will sway the board to ensure the squad/ team retains the quality to do so.Im hoping for top 4 every year (without fail) and the league title once a decade.I think the directors are improving and are doing better than previous years from a financial point of view, but it remains to be seen if their efforts will result in a sustained rise back to the top tier for the team/squad. September 3, 2025Sep 3 We didn't need all the incoming players they've bought. We needed a CF (which they've bought), a LW (but one that improved the starting XI), a quality CB, which they haven't bought, and a quality GK, which they haven't bought either. It's great to have Estevao and Santos on top of that. But we didn't need to buy as many players as they have and they still have neglected some obvious positions that needed upgrading. It's a bizarre way of building up a team to challenge for trophies (real ones, anyway), and it stinks of turning Chelsea into a Poundland of football players.

Does make you feel we are 33% toward having a better side and 66% toward turning a quick profit. One thing that will be interesting to see is that if the failure to add key players in the key positions, ie a keeper and a centre back, see us coming up short of seriously bothering Liverpool etc, will Palmer and one or two others start demanding moves to clubs with on-field success priorities. As much as I dream of winning the title this season, or even narrowly missing out (don’t actually dream of that) I just can’t see us being all that close by the end. A run in the CL might help, but an early-ish exit from that will definitely not.

Since the new owners came in, they haven't bought a single player that has been anywhere near good enough. Sterling, Mudryk, Sancho, now it's Garnacho and Gittens turn.

They are a stable midtable club with lower salary. Furthermore they are one of the few profitable team in PL.

By now, I think it is quite clear that they have a model (player projection, value, potential, etc) that they use and as long as the player fit in this model they will try to sign them. For example, Garnacho fit this model perfectly. The number is good, the video is good, the value is good, the salary is good. Edited September 4, 2025Sep 4 by Bob stark
