For those saying wait until the transfer window actually ends before we freak out, we experienced the same exact thing last summer with the striker hunt, and we ended up getting no one. We then went on to get no one in the following January when our only senior striker was injured for 2-3 months. All sh*t, no poo with their backwards negotiating tactics.

I’m in two minds about the Gittens/Maignan situation, as Dortmund & Milan have gained a lot from us, but the relationship has been one way. The Milan side especially, maybe we shouldn’t be taken advantage of? Then on the flip side of that, how can you mismanage that relationship from a chels point of view. They are taking the piss, but why are they. When Napoli backed out of the Jorginho deal, Man-City put Napoli on the block list, they won’t do business with De Laurentis now (KDB is moving as a free agent). If Milan & Dortmund are gonna treat us like this after everything, why not put down a line in the sand and sent a message. £60m for Gitten is taking the piss.

We play hard ball with players we actually need yet bend over backwards for some kid who could do a thousand keepy ups when he was 5. If our sporting directors have all these scouts all over the place why are we paying £20m for our finds. They ain’t FINDS. They are piss take rip offs.

I don’t mind us walking away from deals but these lot have wasted SO much money on bang average youth players who will never get near the team. I know it’s about profit (buy low, sell high) but honestly, they’ve bought so many players and that they are all depreciating their value.

Let's view what we are currently doing with Strasbourg. To realize how all of our signings are being utilized the perfect example lies with the Strasbourg striker Emegha that we have just bought and loaning back immediately, joining us in 2026. The reason we are doing these types of signings from Strasbourg is simple, money and loan slots. We buy him now when his value is low and have a pre-agreement for 2026. This allows us to keep him at Strasbourg without keeping one of our loan slots occupied. Now to the money. If we buy him now, we have bought him at current value. Next year, it is very likely his value will have increased therefore we have bought him on a cheap compared to buying him when his value is high. If it does not work out, we can flip him for a small profit. If it works out, well we have a good striker for very cheap. This is a win-win for us, not so much for Strasbourg money wise, however they do keep him for another year. He has been great for them and will be playing in Europe this year.

This is the task for our directors, set by our owners. They are not fools, they are executing perfectly. The problem is our owners.

Unsure why you have to tell me this is a football forum. I am speaking about the retrospective job of our directors, as tasked by the owners. The serious issue here are the owners, not the directors. They are 2 Muppets following orders. Fire them both, then what? The next people in charge will continue the same cycle, on repeat. They are tasked to buy young, increase value, then sell what you do not need for your first team. We do not like this model, but the OP is taking shots at the directors when in reality it should be strictly aimed at the ones making these policies. BlueCo AKA Clown Lake "Capital" (hint hint on the word capital.... what does that sound like is happening with the plethora of youngsters?) !

I don't understand this. Dortmund can ask whatever number for gittens. They can ask 500 m, it is their right.

You will blacklist a sd/club only if they violate a deal after you have somekind of agreement.

I really think there has to be more to this. How is stockpiling a bunch of kids for ridiculous sums of money ever going to work out? If they turn out to be good (never happens) then we either build a great team out of them or sell them for large amounts of money. But because they were all brought for such large amounts of money, how do you make a profit on them? And seeing as we brought so many of them, how do we even give them all a chance to become good when there are so many of them? Their value will just depreciate.

All clubs will be looking to what’s best for them. The notion that a club won’t buy a player or won’t sell a player is good press but that type of stance is naive.

The Maigan saga is interesting and has significantly backfired on Milan. They clearly are panicking that the player is not going to sign a new deal and the confirmed fact that they offered him to Chelsea at this point in time isn’t coincidence it’s down to the CWC. They have to sell and k ow that all the control in this now rests with the player. If we want him and he genuinely wants to come to us he will but on terms far more advantageous to us.

I would hazard a guess that both Maigan and Gittens will be at the club come the first PL game of the season. Gittens is clearly unhappy and no club really is acting wisely if they keep a player who is agitating for a move.

Can you explain Washington, DD Fofana, Chukwuemeka, Felix, Slonina, Ugochukwu, Disasi, Badiashile, Jorgensen, Kellyman, Wiley, Amougou.

All the players we didn’t sign cheap and have just let rot. How is this the SD’s executing their job perfectly?

In 24/25 we started selling younger players that the club signed post BlueCo shipping up.

To date there have only been 5 moved on.

Cost /Sold For /Loan fee received /Total profit

Moreira € nil €8.5 m €2.8 €11.3 m

In effect all 5 turned a actual profit and save those that no fee was paid ( Hutchinson & Moreira) the bottom line profit was greater than the fee received

Of course there are examples of player transfers that have turned out to be a disaster and BlueCo aren’t immune from criticism but until a player departs we can’t even get close to establishing how that deal worked out.

The Moreria business was all done via the sister club we owned, so seems silly to include this as good business.

Angelo we were saved by Saudi. We can’t rely on this every window.

Casadei we barely broke even and certainly made a loss when you factor in the wages we paid for him, regardless of what it says for FFP/PSR. Owners are here to make a profit on the bottom line, this won’t be a success in their eyes.

Hutchinson we did well with. Opportunistic free transfer, let’s do more of these rather than wasting tens of millions on nobodies.

I said panicking that he won’t sign a new contract.In realty if he doesn’t sign a new contract this split window is the last real opportunity they have to sell him because come January he is able to sign pre contract.

My thoughts exactly. They've spent an absolute fortune of a bunch of young players and on most of them I don't think they can even recoup the money they spent. Even those few who'll do well on loan and will turn a profit cannot possibly make up for many others that will flop. So how's that model supposed to work?
