Not only a clean sheet. Once again Arsenal allow 0 shots on target.

I think they will beat our record on 15 goals against this season. I will guess they let in a total of 13 league goals.

I'm f**king dreading the thought of the Arse winning the league and beating our defensive record. We'll never hear the f**king end of it. Makes me not want to watch this season at all.

The decision to prioritise Enzo Fernandez ahead of Declan Rice is looking better and better LOL. Well played Eghbali !

Actually I think this was a Roman-era f**k up. We could have signed him in 2020, 2021 or 2022 with no competition but the club quibbled about a then ~60m fee. A bit like Real Madrid/Barcelona I think the club assumed he would always 'come home' but never gave the transfer the priority needed to actually seal the deal.

Maybe so, but that was a period when Roman wasn't prepared to spend after getting his UK visa knocked back (good decision in hindsight). BlueCo came on the scene in 22/23 with oodles of cash and spent £275m, £300m and £407m in three successive windows. Hindsight is a wonderful thing I know ... and we can't fault them for the ambition in signing two 9-figure midfielders. Just a shame they overpaid so badly on one of them !

Not going to get too carried away with Arsenal just yet.

They've had 6 games against the current bottom eight, whereas ourselves, City and Liverpool have only played 3 games against those sides ...

Surprise surprise, not only do TNT move the match from their traditional 12.30pm to 8pm to help Liverpool, for the second week on the trot, they then get a couple of scousers in the studio to be pundits.

TNT really shouldn't charge any sort of subscription when they so heavily favour one team.

The club was plenty flush with cash during that period thanks to the transfer ban, Hazard sale and CL win. We spent plenty (Werner, Havertz etc) but just didn't priortise the signing, probably due to misplaced faith in Jorginho.

Could have done it under BlueCo too but we obviously had better targets.

I'd love to believe it's a conspiracy...But the reasons was more mundane I'm afraid. Last week it had to be moved to comply with PL rules because of the CL game they played midweek. .

Yesterday was due to ....

"TNT Sports selecting the Liverpool v Villa match for broadcast, it would ordinarily have been played in the 12.30pm lunchtime slot.

But:

  • It can’t be played at 12.30pm on Saturday because of the rugby league elsewhere in the city

  • It can’t be played at 3.00pm because it’s a TV game (and because of the rugby league elsewhere in the city)

  • It can’t be played at 5.30pm because that slot is owned by Sky Sports (and because of the rugby league elsewhere in the city)

And, for the record, it couldn’t be played on Sunday regardless of TNT Sports because Liverpool wouldn’t have the appropriate rest period between the Villa match and their Champions League fixture against Real Madrid on Tuesday."

I'm not sure the rugby game was a valid reason though, but TNT are more interested in getting the most viewers, I reckon an 8 pm suits them better.

Arsenal won't be keeping any clean sheets if they are forced to play Kepa in goal for any length of time !

Makes our game against them on the 30th November Massive.

What are the chances of Cole Palmer being back for that? Be great if we could field our strongest side (bar Colwill) that day and blow them away like we did PSG. Need to put some goals past them day day and give them a wake-up call!

According to this, we should have him back, by Burnley game. That leaves 2 games before Arsenal one, which would be great news. It has been ages since we have beaten them.

EXCLUSIVE! When Cole Palmer is expected back - return pla...

Palmer is on his way...

As reported at the time, Cole Palmer’s injury was more serious than what Enzo Maresca was saying and what was being reported.

His injury was made worse by him being played again too soon and he went on and hindered the groin injury.

At this moment in time, there is still no talk of any surgery, and Palmer is on his way back.

Good News

As per SPTC Sources, Chelsea have a return plan set out for Cole Palmer to get back into the squad.

We can reveal that Palmer will be back on the grass doing individual training very soon and the plan at the moment is to give him 30 minutes against Burnley on November the 22nd, in a view for him getting his first start for the Barcelona game on November the 25th.

Obviously I have to say that this is the plan, and sometimes plans don’t always come off. But right now, he is on schedule to make this and this is what they are planning to do with him.

As long as there are no setbacks between now and then, or unless if his recovery goes even faster, this is when we can all expect to see Palmer back out on the pitch with Chelsea.

Let’s hope things continue to go well so we can soon add Palmer back into the mix again. Let’s also hope that this groin injury does not reoccur again. It’s good to see that this time at least, they are letting it fully heal.

This doesn't really smack of good planning:

Remember a world cup game where the bal looked miles over the line , you could see grass between the ball and the white line. When viewed via camera from above, part of the ball was over the line ? I can't remember the game but the incident was looked at because it led to a goal?

I can't recall if they used the goaline technology to look further along the goal line ??

EDIT.. Found it . Japan v Spain
