Emanuel Emegha

Featured Replies

I like Emegha. He's very good on the ball, a good creator and target player and works hard off it.

His two best attributes (running at defenders, and lightning speed) are of no use in Maresca's system.

I thought we owned him anyway. Don't we have to move someone on before we bring anyone else in and doesn't the leaver have to be from our A list. I think it's more likely that Jackson will be brought back tbh.

He was signed a few months ago and is due to join at the end of the season.

Is there anyway as part of the Rosenior ‘compensation’ we can cancel this transfer? Anyway at all? Please?

He fell out with Rosenior at Strasbourg so the signs ain’t good.

It's not inconceivable that Blue Co. will want Emegha integrated into the squad. Rosenior therefore may be instructed to do so and face the prospect of bending to a player who has disrespected him. 😂 Haha. If he performs his allotted tasks well maybe they will let him snub Emegha in the summer. What a circus.

My biggest hope with this transfer is he was bought purely due to the interest around him and we’ll quickly ‘flip’ him without ever having to go through the rigmarole of his subpar performances for half a season before being loaned to the arse end of the world.

From The Guardian. Just what we need:

Cheers turned to jeers, though, when Emegha entered the scene. The Dutchman’s perceived arrogance has soured his relationship with the fans. The announcement of his impending move to Chelsea was untimely, given that he had just been handed the captain’s armband. The rift deepened when he said he had initially thought Strasbourg was in Germany, that he helped put the club on the footballing map, and that poor performances against Ligue 1’s big-hitters could be attributed to his absence.

His demeanour and outfit did not go down well with the crowd on Thursday night. “He stands in front of the Kop wearing sunglasses even though it’s 11pm. You’re the captain of Strasbourg, you don’t turn up like that,” said former France international goalkeeper Mickaël Landreau. Diego Moreira tried to diffuse the situation but, when met with Emegha’s reluctance to walk away from the confrontation, he returned to the dressing room. “We know Emanuel’s situation at the club. I just wanted to avoid a larger conflict,” said the left-back. “I just didn’t want to add more problems.”

How is it that most people on this forum who have watched Strasbourg this season and last can see that this fella is enigmatic at best and likely a problematic and inconsistent player ? Also that Panichelli would have been a far better option for transferring to the Chels - his performances in the earlier part of the season have been significant if not spectacular and he might just might make the grade with us.

Yet the SDs with all their skill knowledge and experience cant see this? Mr Eghbali you are employing buffoons!

I'm more concerned that, at the age of 20, he'd never heard of Strasbourg. That is an alarming level of dimwittedness for somebody who has spent his entire life in Europe.

@Valerie What are they teaching these kids??

I hope to god we just loan him back to Strasbourg or another club.

Aside that he looks mediocre, we already have the 3 stooges at the club in Jackson, Gusto and Fofana. Don't need any more.

I'm not sure. The list is probably a short one.

To be fair he looked a half decent player before he opened his mouth. Quite a lot of Dutch players over the years could start a fight in an empty room. The outward view of the Dutch is they are a mellow bunch but in my experience they love a proper argument.

He reminds me a bit of Osimhen. He looked as raw as Emegha does when he was younger.

Sooner or later one of these signings will hit. Not by skill but by the law of averages.

Leaving this here for mild, mellow, calm, serene @Valerie to comment on.

Thank you @dermott , @19seventyone 's comment had passed me by.

In general I wouldn't characterise the Dutch as mellow, first time I've heard of this! We're direct, misinterpreted by those bloody foreigners as rude. I mean, f**k off, seriously?! We don't love a proper argument, we just set the c**ts straight who disagrees with us. But the Dutch football players are entitled and overestimate their talent, that is closer to the mark.

Now everybody just f**k off.
