I thought that teams that play in the CL on Wednesdays then get to play their next league game on Sunday. Is that not a thing anymore?

Has it ever? Liverpool fans have been complaining about that for years.

No, it is of you play in European competition on Thursdays your wrekend game is played on Sundays.

Im hoping its a lot less dramatic than the 4-4 game previously.😳

i was at that game and by the end didnt know whether i was heading to St Pancras or Wimbledon.

Id be happy with a low key 3-0.🙂

I was there as well, I screamed myself hoarse. Ahhh, when Azpi scored 5-4...and then it was disallowed 🤬 Still, the illicit A*** supporters in my row had already trudged off by then.

Is there any hope we are entertained tonight? I am expecting a poor Ajax side to put up little resistance to a mediocre 'going through the motions' performance of another unique and never to be repeated Chelsea starting eleven. 2-0 to Chelsea is my guess.

Last 6 Ajax results they do look shyte in the Champs League thats a fact ! Expect more mass rotation and a false 9, hoping that the team performance today is much better than the 1st 45 on the weekend but wont be surprised if it is not.

Well, like most Ajacieden I’m expecting the worst tonight. We are just not a C.L. Level team at the moment, as we are still repairing the damage done during the disastrous Mislintat era. Our CEO says we should be in a position to strengthen the squad starting next summer, in the meantime we just have to suffer.

The situation is not helped by our coach Johnny Heitinga being a complete imbecile. He has about half of a decent football team available to him, but he insists on playing most of those players in the wrong position - and the entire team playing kamikaze tactics that several players are on record as saying they are not suited to playing. I sometimes wonder if the only reason he was recruited as coach is to make sure his son stays in the Ajax academy. Before the tournament started Klaasen said he didn’t think Ajax would secure a point in this year’s CL and I’m sure he’s right.

there are a couple of good kids to watch if they get to play. There’s a good young English centre back called Aaron Bouwman, Jorghi Mokio is a talent, but he should be playing in the midfield, not in defence. Sean Steur is the next Ajax superstar- but he’s unlikely to get much of a game.

5 - 0 is my prediction, anything less than 4 - 0 would be a minor victory for Ajax.

We should be able to beat the f**kers comfortably, they're in a mess. However, it's Chelsea, otherwise known as Charity FC, we're talking about....

Aye is true. and we may well have George up front and Jorgensen in goal...

Axman I'm not trying to cheer you up, I'm trying to cheer myself up by coming clean and getting my frustrations off my chest. We've had lot's of good times in the past, you just have to suck it up when things are like they are now.

I'm hoping Sean Steur gets a few minutes, five years from now he will be a global superstar, mind you by them he will be playing for Barcelona or Chelsea. There was a time when our academy graduates would leave at age 25 or 26, then it went down to about 22 or 23 - now it's 18 or 19! We just don't have the cash to compete with top 5 league salaries.
