Decos debut was superb,but for a player i thought would struggle into scolaris side,Joey was also Brilliant,

No doubt about it. Has to be DECO. so much for foreigners needing time to adapt to the EPL. He was superb from start to finish.

Well I went for Deco, but I probably would have voted for Scolari if it was an option. He has us playing a beautiful game right now. A Cole and Mikel also very strong, great debut by Bossboy, Ballack first class while he was on, Cech solid, J Cole played with purpose and even Anelka almost looked the part. Lampard solid as ever.

Ah the close passing and the long passing, what a pleasure, and then Manu only drew.

Deco for me. Ballack was excellent before he went off. Boswinga and Mikel were very good too. Overall a very enjoyable and encouraging start.

Can't see past Deco myself,

good team performance and some pretty football although Portsmouth stood off and looked below par, its hard to tell if thats because we played so well or if they were just poor...

Ballack looked very good while he was on and with him and Deco pulling strings its hard to imagine our strikers not scoring for fun.

Tempted by so many. Deco of course, lamps was bossing everything, Percy and JT were imperious.

But I am going to surprise myself and vote Anelka.

His running on and off the ball ran the Pompey defense a right merry dance and that opened space for the likes of Lamps, Deco nd Joe to do their magic.

But they were all great! :)

What a performance by everyone on the team. However, the debut boy Deco showed why Mourinho wanted him to be his first signing and Phil made him his first signing.

Chuffed with Deco and Bosingwa, but for me Lamps controlled that midfield like never before and looked confident just passing making runs, linking play.... hope him and Deco can keep it up.. puts pay to all that crap about Gerrard and Lamps can't play together.. Deco and Lamps can :D

Suprisingly, i went for Deco.

Looked like he'd been playing in Blue for years.

Notable mentions must also go to both full-backs, Ballack, and Mikel.

Both full backs were amazing, but Deco went one better.

Clear winner and rightly so
