I know it's ancient history and we were still pants, but have a read of this pathetic explanation from the linesman as to why he didn't give the goal...he makes out the ball flew in and out in a milisecond, when it actually dropped slowly behind the line off the bar...

Oh boo hoo. We yanks had double your number of disallowed legitimate goals yet we don't whine nearly as much.
