August 4, 201510 yr Really? I thought Jeremy Renner was amazing in the hurt locker. Will have to catch this for the chases and stuff. Literally the only good film he has done. He's been in everything since and hasn't been any good at all. Can you name one stand out film he has done since the Hurt Locker?
August 4, 201510 yr Literally the only good film he has done. He's been in everything since and hasn't been any good at all. Can you name one stand out film he has done since the Hurt Locker? I only saw him in Avengers besides that and to buck common opinion I don't the film as a whole. I can't stand Clive Owen personally, literally the most wooden actor that has ever lived. Nicholas Cage on the other hand, some of his films quite possibly the biggest over actor I think I've ever witnessed.
August 4, 201510 yr I thought he was good in 28 weeks later (Jeremy Renner). I agree on Clive Owen. Nicholas Cage, I think is brilliant in some stuff, but wooden in others. Leaving Las Vegas is a masterpiece Edited August 4, 201510 yr by NorthernMonkey
August 5, 201510 yr I watched the 1995 version of the Village of the Damned last night. I think it was Christoper Reeve's last film before his riding accident. Film was good but I don't think it is as good as the 1960 version with George Sanders. The films are based on John Wyndham's excellent book, the Midwich Cuckoos.
August 5, 201510 yr Used to love John Wyndham's book when I was a teenager, I read them all more than once.
August 6, 201510 yr Watched Léon tonight. Probably seen it 10/15 times, one of my favourites. Anyone else a fan?
August 6, 201510 yr Watched Léon tonight. Probably seen it 10/15 times, one of my favourites. Anyone else a fan? Love it, one of my all time favourite films. Everything about that film is great but you can't go wrong with a bit of Gary Oldman being proper mental.
August 6, 201510 yr Love it, one of my all time favourite films. Everything about that film is great but you can't go wrong with a bit of Gary Oldman being proper mental. Exactly. I love how psycho his character is. Like when he shoots the glass out next to the old woman's head,'He saiiiid go back insiiide'.
August 6, 201510 yr It's all about: The ending of the film is so good, got to be one of the best endings... The film is quite slowly paced up to that point and it's a kind of twisted father/daughter relationship story almost. Then you get to the ending and BLAM! sh*t just kicks off.
August 6, 201510 yr "He's not my father, he is my lover". I should probably be locked up for saying this but that line gives me a hard-on every time....
August 6, 201510 yr "He's not my father, he is my lover". I should probably be locked up for saying this but that line gives me a hard-on every time.... Hahaha.

August 9, 201510 yr Watching '13 going on 30' with the wife. Make it stop someone, please....... Haha I like that film
August 9, 201510 yr Watched "the lunchbox" last night. Its about an Indian man who finds something surprising in his lunchbox. The wife enjoyed it.
August 9, 201510 yr "He's not my father, he is my lover". I should probably be locked up for saying this but that line gives me a hard-on every time.... So the guy in the film is a paedophile? Edited August 9, 201510 yr by Droogba
August 9, 201510 yr The Life of David Gale, film about the death penalty in USA . Good film 8/10 Another excellent Kevin Spacey film!
August 9, 201510 yr Watched trainwreck last night, it was pretty good, especially if you like judder apatows films like wonderlust, superb ad, anchorman etc. 8.5/10
August 9, 201510 yr The Cider House Rules What did you think of it? I thought it was very disappointing compared to the book, but there was so much in the book it would have been difficult to cover it all. I would have liked to see it made as a 10 episode TV series.
August 10, 201510 yr What did you think of it? I thought it was very disappointing compared to the book, but there was so much in the book it would have been difficult to cover it all. I would have liked to see it made as a 10 episode TV series. It's the second time I've seen it, my wife hadn't. I had largely forgotten (age you know) most of it. I've not read the book, should I?I think it's a lovely balanced movie, with a hint of "The Waltons" in it. You can tell it's from a Novel (The author apparently did the slimming down for the film), as I'm sure children's homes would be much more unpleasant in reality, in those days. My wife enjoyed the film, but isn't over keen on Tobey McGuire. I have to agree, he sometimes comes over a bit 'gormless'. Having said that, I thought he was pretty well cast. They apparently considered Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Di Caprio etc. If I hadn't got 3 books in the queue, I'd get it. I though Charlize Theron was excellent, although my wife says 'that's only because you got to see her bottom' :) Edited August 10, 201510 yr by NorthernMonkey
August 11, 201510 yr The Maze Runner, I really enjoyed it, have wanted to see this and haven't ever heard much about it so my expectations were very much in check. Solid movie 7/10
August 11, 201510 yr Finally watched the Godfather all the way through, 8.5/10, which I realise a lot of people will think is criminally low. I think this may be because I haven't read the books and so some of the obscure things I found might actually make more sense. Maybe someone who has seen the film and read the books can answer these for me: 1. What was the point of the Sicily part and Michael getting married? Just seemed a weird and could easily have been left out as it added nothing to the story. The way he ‘won’ back Kay was a bit weird too… I guess it was supposed to show a change in his manner which would set up future films but there were surely less time consuming ways to do it! 2. Who/which family killed Sonny? It was all very Bonnie and Clyde.
