August 1, 201510 yr Excellent film and soundtrack yep, deborah's theme is my favorite, felt like it sums up the whole movie perfectly, beautiful yet tragic gave me the chills everytime Edited August 1, 201510 yr by havelschayes
August 2, 201510 yr Watched gone girl last night. Was pretty good, although I spotted the plot twist within 5 minutes. Solid 7.5/10
August 3, 201510 yr Watched 71 the other night , really enjoyed it . Set in Belfast I 1971 it is a topic most films struggle to keep the middle ground on and not come down in favour on one side of the fence but 71 managed it very well . well worth a look 8/10 ( the camera work is a bit "shaky" at times but still worth watching ).
August 3, 201510 yr Chappie Neill Blomkamp film, same guy who did District 9. Love the way he films things, got a unique visual style that I like. The film itself had a pretty paint by numbers plot and is basically an X rated version of Short Circuit (kinda)... Dragged a little in the middle but ended quite strongly. Worth a watch though. *************************** Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) Again brilliantly shot... The film is done to be like one continuous shot never cutting away just sweeping in and out of rooms. Very cleverly done and makes the film interesting for that alone. Michael Keaton is great in the lead role as an over the hill actor and the film follows him in the lead up to opening of his Broadway play and him battle his ego. Edward Norton, who I rate really highly as an actor is also great in this.
August 3, 201510 yr The Worlds End. Enjoyable Simon Pegg romp. Sort of like an amalgamation of Paul, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz

August 3, 201510 yr Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation. Cruise is back for the fifth installment, and hasn't aged a day. The plane stunt is fantastically audacious, capping off a brilliant pre-credits sequence. A motorbike chase through Morocco is very exciting and Simon Pegg returning as Benji for his third MI film as the comic relief is much needed amongst the spies, double crosses and Jeremy "I can't act" Renner's unwelcome second appearance. One of the best of the series, behind only the first and possibly the third one, I give it 8/10 Edited August 3, 201510 yr by Blueblur
August 3, 201510 yr Can't remember which comedian it was but I liked:- " 'Mission impossible' should be renamed to 'Mission really really difficult, but he'll manage it in the end' "

I did not see the end coming at all (until just before) so that was good. I liked the actor who played Chappie's creator. A strong performance as he could easily have turned in a lazy depiction of a 'geek'.
August 3, 201510 yr Watched Casablanca with the missus last night, first time for her, I've seen it before but it never gets old, one of my favourite films. "Here's looking at you kid" 10/10
August 3, 201510 yr Oh yeah and the missus had me watch "after the sunset" on Saturday. What a brilliant film that was but saying that I'm a huge Pierce Brosnon fan & Salma Hayek, what more can you really say?

Will give it another chance as I really loved district 9 and elysium.

What's awesome about the baddies is that they are a real life South African hip hop group called Die Antwoord and they are using their stage names in the film.

Will have to catch this for the chases and stuff.
