But you know don't have a knee jerk reaction, marina is an expert despite the past 2 poor windows, it's only July....ok fine the last point is valid it looks like we are working but you wouldn't expect the league leaders back in Europe to be bottom of the list. We have been courting the right players so I put it down to bad closing, but let's see how it ends up.

If it is another poor window surely no one will have the urge to rush to marinas defence, for me she isn't good enough comparatively, anyway let's see what happens, the club is certainly ambitious in our targets and Roman has obviously ok'd a good spend so I only see one problem link in the chain....

Guys am pretty worried about are striker situation or lack off. Morata looks like a no Go and and aubamayang (spelling) is not an option for me. What do u guys think.

Why's Morata a no go? Because he's gone on their pre season tour?

He'll just get permission to leave and fly to London. No big deal for 2 clubs our size

Quite a few reports suggesting its not happening I no its all talk but we r not nailed on for morata atm so am just asking what are options are.

Real Madrid may want Courtois or Hazard? Even if Morata hands in a transfer request they can still refuse to sell to us. I think PSG may have a say in where Morata goes fwiw. Wouldn't surprise me if we end up with Cavani or Mandzukic.

I'm sure we will find a striker, wether it be Morata or whoever else. Diego Costa being excused from training should be a clear indication we are looking for a replacement.

With Sky Sports reporting that we are closing on Morata im pretty sure he's the replacement.

Juve won't let Mandzukic go without securing Douglas first. Even if they did secure Douglas, there aren't enough evidence to suggest they'd let go of Mandzukic

According to Sky Sport Italia, there are problems between Juventus and Sampdoria that could see the Patrik Schick transfer abandoned.
The striker agreed personal terms last month and had his medical during a break from the European Under-21 Championship three weeks ago.

Tell me where the improvement comes from? No doubt I will just cop abuse for my post but I'd actually like someone to engage me politely and put forward a rational argument that counteracts anything I've said.

Some people just don't like the truth and as soon as someone dares to speak up about it they just get personally attacked and called out as "negative".

For a start we aren't replacing Moses or Cahill. Costa is a great striker but has wanted to leave for at least 6months. Matic may or may not leave, who knows. Lukaku chose United and no one knows if we were even in for him anyway. Agree with RMCM, so much negativity!

Given United threw in excess of £100m at that transfer there wasn't a snowball's chance in hell that anyone but them were going to sign him.

Madrid's "scraps" included talents that walk into the starting XI of most club's in Europe... Their squad is stacked with talent hence being league and European Cup winners. How many clubs let a player of the quality such as James Rodriguez leave on a two loan?

So if Moses, Matic and Cahill remain starters and we are replacing Costa with an inferior Morata then we have obviously made our starting XI worse...

I never claimed Morata was inferior. That was your claim.

Morata has never playing in the EPL so how is he inferior to Costa?

Funny that you don't mention the loss of JT at all. Surely the team will be inferior without him as Captain (playing or not)

Moses may be replaced my Danilo who I personally think is the better player, my opinion though. Cahill may start but he wasn't great on the left of cb last season. Matic may make way for Bakayoko but we will have to wait and see

I didn't see anything in my post that was attacking you. I simply commented on how irrationally negative you're being. Bakayoko is yonger and more athletic than Matic, and will give us a good engine in midfield if we sign him, he's no more of a donkey than Matic. Cahill is getting older, he is sloppy with the ball, Rudiger is younger, can play two positions, and is much better with the ball at his feet which suits a back 3 formation much better. We wouldn't be signing Danilo to replace Moses, it would be an addition, and just because he wasn't great at Madrid doesn't mean he can't be good for us, a lot of players don't make it there, they're a toxic club with toxic fans. Danilo at Porto was a highly coveted player, and for good reason, we'd just need to get that out of him again. He's great going forward, more suited to a back 3 than 4, so he's a better fit for us than Madrid who line up with a back 4. And what makes you think Morata is average? His goal to game ratio is excellent when he has started games, Conte signed him at Juve before, and, no harm to you, but i trust Conte's judgement a lot more than a random bloke on the internet.

Of the players you listed above, Belotti and Fabinho, possibly Aubameyang are the only ones i'd consider. Van Dijk is good, but not worth the money and southampton are being a pain in the hole to everyone who shows interest in him, same with Koulibaly and Napoli, Dahoud already signed for dortmund, and Silva for Man City, so they're no goes, Alves is old and signed for PSG and if we were to sign a wingback from Juve i'd want it to be Sandro anyway. Aurier is a c**tmuffin, and Fabinho is no better than Bakayoko could be for us, in my mind. 

There's a counter argument. 

we could win the title for the next 3 years and people would still be complaining we aren't signing enough quality. if the last 2 seasons have told us anything, it's that having a first team (or squad even) full of so called "names" and star quality doesn't guarantee success in the premier league.
