October 17, 20196 yr Might have fallen out of favour with Madrid already, in which case I wouldnt mind going in for him. The only issue is that it would likely halt the growth of Tammy, and not sure either wants to play as second fiddle. If we sell Giroud and Bats, we'd need to bring in someone of a lesser caliber who wouldn't mind playing 2nd
October 17, 20196 yr [link removed] Still upset that we fluffed his transfer last year. Hopefully this summer. He would really help.

They should have brought in Haller who is in the mould of Benzema. Jovic was an unneeded buy given that they have Rodrygo, Hazard, Asensio, Isco, Vinicius Jr etc.

They'll buy anyone without a care in the world

He could have rejected the move and gone to an European Top 6 club where he would have been a starter.

You're not wrong but my point is Jovic (who's an attacking forward at best) is not the signing they needed. They needed a Haller-type of player more. Obviously anyone in the world would say yes if Real Madrid called them up and was willing to give 100k+ a week. Edited October 20, 20196 yr by Deino
November 26, 20196 yr Spurs are after Nathan Ake & as we have a buy back clause I could actually see us buying him back in order to maybe use him as a squad option or alternatively sell him on at a more market specific rate.

I dont see the need to buy Ake. Dont see any of Rudiger, Zouma, Tomori and Christensen leaving anytime soon.

Perhaps we should of negotiated a sell-on clause! I don't think we should buy him unless we intend to use him otherwise makes us look like a penny pinching club and might put off better prospective talents coming here.

Considering Maguire went for 80m and clubs are willing to spend upwards of 50m for decent CB's, I can see Chelsea making the decision purely from a commercial perspective to buy him back (I think the buy back is approximately 40m) and see if we can use him as a versatile player for a year and potentially sell him the year after depending on Lampards assessment. I agree from a Branding & PR perspective it may not be a good look but the club stands to make potentially 20m from the move.

I’d argue this is precisely not the time to worry about a commercial perspective. We’ve just had a summer without buying players, so it’s not like we need to balance the books or anything. Buy good expensive players that will change our team, not sentimental former youth players that are no better than our current players of that position.

Ake is on a similar level to them, so wouldnt exactly upgrade our options by buying him. What we need to do is buy someone like a Skrnier or Romagnoli and get rid of some of our CB options who are pretty poor and havent proved themselves enough given the countless chances
December 3, 20196 yr Atalanta's Swedish midfielder Dejan Kulusevski, on loan at Parma this season but linked with Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham, has revealed he is a Chelsea fan. (Talksport)
December 6, 20196 yr Ah so good for the silliest of seasons to kick off. With us back in the transfer window, I can't wait until we are linked with every swinging dick that has ever looked at a Chelsea website or might have met one of our players at any interval in life.

I can't see him wanting to play out the rest of his career with an English team fighting to stay up. If Pedro is to leave in the near future, I'm sure he will either want one final go with a side competing in the major European competitions, or go back to Spain to finish his career.
