Not seen or heard much of him, it would seem a strange use of funds. Maybe someone who has seen him can offer some insight into why we would be looking at him?

January 8, 20206 yr Suprised we havent gone in for Osimhen. Similar record to Diallo, but 4 years younger, and has champions leagie experience.
January 8, 20206 yr From sky sports so take with a pinch of "trying to make people bet" salt: BREAKING NEWS Chelsea have made an offer for Benfica midfielder Gedson Fernandes. The offer is thought to be for an 18 month loan with an obligation to buy for £55m, provided he plays in at least 50 per cent of the games during the loan spell. West Ham United’s latest offer is for an 18 month loan with an obligation to buy for £33m – the percentage of games to trigger the obligation is less than Chelsea’s. The decision will rest with Benfica and the player.
January 8, 20206 yr used to get the hammers to up their offer? Is he a central midfielder? Cause that is the last position we should be targeting.

We hsve been linked with soumare, guimarães, berge, and now gedson, so maybe it is a position lamps wants something different. All 4 are fairly similar. I like soumare but i think gedson could go on to be a quality player aswell.
January 8, 20206 yr CM, really? One who only West Ham are interested in and can’t get into benfica team. Seems extremely odd to me. kante Jorginho kovacic RLC Mount Barkley is enough I reckon
January 8, 20206 yr Mount and barkely are not central midfielders, RLC isn't either really. Of the other 3 there's not much physicality between them, or height. That might be something Lampard has decided is a problem.
January 8, 20206 yr I think I would prefer Soumare from Lille, who we’ve also been linked to, to Fernandes.
January 8, 20206 yr Matt Law has dismissed the links to Fernandes. Sky bet probably making a killing.

I can't see us signing him now though, Leciester will not want to sell any of their key players when they are in the position they are currently in. Could it be mings from Villa maybe?

January 9, 20206 yr (Mohamed Bouhafsi) Lille very open to selling Boubakary Soumaré this month. Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid are all interested in doing a deal.
January 9, 20206 yr SSN do not own skybet. They make no money off it at all with the rumours they report and resulting odds... Gedson Fernandes is absolute nonsense though

January 9, 20206 yr Linked to Thomas Lemar on a loan with an option to buy. Wouldn't be against that myself. Low risk, was great at Monaco.

The old link to Thomas Lemar yet again. This comes up every time. Arsenal to emerge favourites, drama, drama, drama...and nothing happens. That said, I wouldn't be against him either.
January 9, 20206 yr Nope, I wouldn’t be against Lemar either. Could turn out to be a shrewd signing while his value is low, like Kovacic. Kovacic is worth far more than 40m now, even though it didn’t seem the case at the time.
