Once again we are linked with Leon Bailey... I know he's rapid and had a decent year again but does anybody know if he's any good? There is talk of him being around £40m which is way better than some of the other options out there.

A soft shot that was going under him but he quickly had to get down and get it away which he did. This is just nitpicking. Not his fault players are ballwatching as 3 unmarked players can get to the rebound.

I agree with this, he reacted well under the circumstances and it was ball watching that allowed Villa to then follow up.

It's the "get it away" I don't agree with.

Pushing a shot out in front of you into the 6 yard box is not getting it away. I think a world class keeper does more there, it should have been pushed hard to his left (or caught). It looks unnatural what he ended up doing.

That for me is a basic goalkeeping error.

I agree that it's a bigger error that the defence were ballwatching. But there can be multiple things that go wrong in one goal.

This, from very close range as well

If any keeper managed to push that shot out in between 3 villa players, it wouldve been luck more than judgement.

I have seen him play a lot as a Genk fan.
Back then he stood out above the rest with his pace, dribble and good left foot.
His future looked very promising. He is playing decent for Leverkusen, but he is often also used as a sub. Which means there surely is room for improvement at a higher league.
If he would come it would be as a back up at first, with great potential at one point.
His dad might cause problems. He is a special guy.

Never great when they have a family member as an agent. [emoji54]

Yeah it’s his adoptive father (hope I write it correct). He was pretty much the only negative experience we had with Leon. Caused some unnecessary drama. Especially when he wanted to force a transfer. I believe the main reason was because his actual son Kyle Butler (who nobody knows now for a reason) wasn’t granted first team game time at Genk, but only with the youngsters.

Yeah. Which is why I said either catch it or push it hard to his left (where there are no villa players). He could even push it down and smother it.

What he did - as you say - was never going to end up successful unless he got lucky. It's a mistake made worse by the fact that our defence had not bothered to do any defending, but its basic goalkeeping 101 that you dont push a save like that out like that.

He didnt have chance to make that decision though, the initial shot was from 5 yards out, and you are expecting him push that wide of his left post? I really dont rate kepa, and would definitely replace him, but the best keepers in the world would struggle to push that ball to safety.

Leverkusen fan I take it? What's your opinion on Havertz?

Shouldn't the Kepa stuff be in the match chat thread for the game in question? emoji849.png

Yeah I put it in here as we were linked to Henderson, who also made a mistake on the weekend. Then it spiralled.

I don’t really have a team in the Bundesliga. Just enjoy the competition more than the Spanish or Italian. So follow it closer. But don’t really have a team there. If I have to choose one. Maybe FC Köln, which isn’t far from Leverkusen. Well he surely is a massive talent. Nobody can deny that. But it is a lot of money, And I am not sure that he is yet worth that amount. Then again, it isn’t my money. So who cares. [emoji28] He really is on fire since new year (even pre COVID) including in the UEFA and has been a lot of games captain. Which is impressive for someone only turned 21 this month.
I also prefer to see him rather in the center than from the wing.
Then again we got more than enough wingers already.
Werner (or Tammy/Giroud if Werner will be more coming from the left) with after him Kai should work. And if Lamps wants to use Werner as a shadow striker you can still place him one row behind or on the right wing.

A few reports out there that we are interested in Layvin Kurzawa, who would be available on a free. If both Alonso and Emerson leave, I think it would be a smart move. Keeps money available for other positions - perhaps even a big money move for a second LB.

Apparently PSG are offering him a new contract for give years so I doubt he'll move. It's an easy life there.
Whats the thoughts on Declan Rice coming back maybe to play at centre back? A few rumours we are interested.
Seems mental. They'd want a fortune and he is unproven as CB. Wouldn't make in into a our midfield either.

He played in midfield v Spurs last week and was by far the best player on pitch, just had total crap around him, never really had an opinion on him as hadn't really seen him play, but certainly caught my eye in this game especially 2nd half, heard he's good at centre back as well.

Apparently since Lamps doesn't rate Jorghinio Juventus are offering either Rabiot or Ramsey as part of a deal. Sounds crap to me. They picked they both up on a free and neither has done much is anything. Rabiot us slightly younger but I get the impression he's trouble and in all honesty we should be getting ride of a midfielder for a defender not bringing in more CMs we don't need!

sounds like a crap deal. Only way I would like Jorginho to leave is buy straight transfer. If not, then I will happily keep him.
