He's done well in the Bundesliga though. And with the way we always seem to try and walk the ball into the net, I think his style would suit us. One of the best finishers from inside the box..

Might see this pop up more if we were lacking in defense, but Jores Okore from the Danish side we just beat wants to move to England and said that Chelsea is his favorite team. He looked pretty good against us, but not sure how consistent he is. Our central defense pretty set right now, and when you factor in the young guys on loan, there's likely nothing in it. I thought it was interesting though, wish him well.

I liked his style. A very tough defender. He looked very "english" in his way of playing. Seems to be one of those who can break an arm in a game and then complain that the medical staff isn't quick enough with the bandages because he want to be out there playing as soon as possible.

Have just seen him in one game though, so it's too soon to say if he's really good or not. But I've heard some people who sees him play more often say that he's a really talented player.

And if he likes Chelsea, then all the better.

Utd have been tracking him. And he's in with a shout for the Danish national side, so he must be good. Only young, supposedly both footed. Looked comfortable on the ball and had plenty of pace to catch moses like he did. Tough, strong and solid. Could be quite the player.

And he has taste in football teams.

I think if we sign a striker in Jan we should look fr a short term option cause you can see quie clearly that Luaku is gone be a player we shoud keep him out on loan next season and hopefully come the end of that run he'll be first choice for us.

Why on earth do I keep seeing us getting linked to Walcott?

I can't believe Roman is only prepared to give Cole a 1 year extension. I can understand Lampard a bit more, but Ashley Cole, one of the best left backs in the world...looks like he could be leaving in January. Very disappointing :(

Yeah let's target a player that plays in a team that struggles to keep more than 10 clean sheets a season. There are far better LB's out there, we just ain't looking hard enough.

People always bring this up depsite Johnson's solid defensive performances over the past season and a half. He is an extremely good LB, seems like he's better playing there than at RB for some reason. In comparision to Baines, he is as good if not better.

Of course I would rather Ryan got played there but that doesn't seem likely. And if people at the club knew we were going to be after a new LB in Jan, I would rather we had got Alvaro in the end after all that hassle.

Saw some links on Twitter linking us to Paulinho, CDM for Corinthians, although when I searched for him most of the results came back linking him to Inter. Looks like he's just starting to break into the national side at 24, and is apparently going to be competing with Ramires for a starting XI spot. Probably nothing in it, but thought it was interesting. We'll likely see this guy in action over in Japan.

Not at all, he's stringed great performances together. Last season being the main one. He does make the wrong choices at times, not really denying that, but nowhere near as bad and frequently as you and others making out.

Of course Bertrand gets games but my point was he still wouldn't be first choice if Cole leaves. If Cole was to leave, a replacement would be brought in. I can't see us not signing a new LB if Cole leaves, we would have Ryan, PVA and Cesar (plays both sides) as our LB's. Don't get me wrong, I would be happy with that (Not so much with PVA though but I'm willing to give him a chance) but I doubt the club will be.
