So if Mata is on the wing, would KdB or Schurrle be first choice in the starting 11 for Mata's vacant role or the other wing?

Good question, not to mention Oscar and Moses are both right footed if Jose wanted to select them on the left side. Can be argued Moses has produced more often in the past from the left.

 

Problem is we have no alternative to Mata as a left footed right winger.

 

Then there is the possibility we go back to the 4-3-3, so how would that look?

Maybe, he seems like he has a lot of potential that Jose can hopefully unlock. I have high expectations from him and Lukaku. I think they are ready to make a big impact.

And axman, I too am very excited to see what KdB and Lukaku can do at Chelsea now that they have both had productive seasons on-loan. Just hope KdB's injury wasn't too serious, any updates on that?

To go back to the earlier thing. If Mata is to play on the right, surely Oscar would be the more likely candidate in the centre than De Bruyne, at least to start with? Personally, I prefer Mata in the middle, though I think it plays to his strengths more in terms of playing in tight spaces.

As good as Bale is, I think the £80m could really improve their squad. 

 

For a start they could buy a couple of strikers. And then they could spend some money on a centre back and maybe a left winger... I dare say they would still have change left over from all of that. 

A small demon inside me wants them not to sell and Bale have an average season just to bring some sense into spurs fans. They're all star struck I guess having such a star in the team and thinking that 90m isn't enough for him.. smh

Half of them have never heard of Bale and 90% had never heard of Modric, lol.
