No need, he's pretty much the same as Josh expect he's Spanish and therefore more appealing.

I cant say this post didnt remind of the 'Mikel, every bit as promising as Fabregas' thread

Interviewed by Le10sport the observer of Chelsea Guy Hillion spoke of the interest of the English club for Giannelli Imbula of Marseille: "I saw him often: it has good technical qualities and excellent vision. Moreover it is very good even during breaking and provides great coverage to the defense. has great quality and we really like as a player. " But it seems too early to talk about a possible offer for the midfielder in January by the club Mourinho.

We were going to get him this summer but he preferred to go somewhere that guaranteed him playing time. Very likely we'll move again before next season.

So apparently we're interested in this guy who's meant to be a Makelele-esque player. Know absolutely nothing about him but it's good to see we're looking at options.

EDIT: never mind, I realise it's already been posted. I think this is a confirmation though.

"Chelsea are poised to spend £50m on Marseille midfielder Giannelli Imbula, 21, and FC Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala, 22, in the January transfer window."

I know it's just paper tosh, but surely we have far more important positions to strengthen.

A midfield player is what we're most desperate for.

Not constantly using Lampard/Ramires is what we're desperate for, what about KDB? MVG? Personally think we should start the search for Coles replacement and a new striker before a midfielder/centre back

van Ginkel is out for 6 months with a knee injury which is why there hasn't been more variation on Ramires/Lampard.

Cole's replacement started on Saturday, he did quite well.

Lukaku will return next season giving us the new striker as well.

Lukaku in Ba and Eto out though, so we're left with two strikers in a World Cup summer and even if we go with Bertrand as Coles long term replacement it still leaves us short in that position.

I disagree i think the centre midfield area is the weakest area of our team/squad.

Van Aanholt can return next season, he is playing very well apparently.

Scored a worldy the other day to make it 3-2 to Vitesse, having been 2-0 down. (Piazon scored the first 2)

Piazon obviously got the assist for the 3rd...

Who said Ba is leaving, still under contract isn't he?

In regards to Ba it's an assumption I'm making going on our attempts to move him on in the last window. Lukaku, Torres and Ba is far from the best attacking line-up I can imagine us having, so much is hinging on how good a season Torres has this year and while the signs are there, we all know it could easily go either way. It also depends on wether we stick with one up front.

I'd be happy with Bertrand and Van Arnholt covering the left-back position as they have come up the ranks, but I'm not convinced in either of them. Still I certainly don't think we need a CB in January and until certain players are let go and we decide what to do with the wealth of young midfielders we've got on the books I don't see why a January bid for CM is required more than an adjustment in tactics to make the most of the very good squad we already have.

£50m for a player who was in Ligue 2 last season? Knock off the zero and that's a Wenger signing...
