November 18, 201312 yr Yeah so it's something like 'Chelsea can only spend 120m a season, Manchester United 170m a season, Hull, 40m...' (made up figures) Fortunately we're already established so I believe it only prevents the smaller clubs from becoming better. Edited November 18, 201312 yr by MANoWAR
November 18, 201312 yr Regarding Matic haven't they just spent a bomb on Illarramendi? Similar players who both need, imo, a powerful cm next to them. If Matic isnt a powerful CM then i dont know who is The guy is like 190cm tall, probably weighs over 90 kg
November 18, 201312 yr Regarding Matic haven't they just spent a bomb on Illarramendi? Similar players who both need, imo, a powerful cm next to them. So if Matic went to Chelsea him and Ramires would be a brilliant pairing. But playing Matic and Illarramendi would be like playing Mikel and Lampard brilliant passing and good possession but just overrun in a midfield 2 which they would surely play with Bale, Ronaldo and Isco as their ams with Di Maria as backup. Think Gundogan would be perfect for them or Witsel. So they have 2 good passers in the 2 but a solid fast runner being 1 of them feeding the 3 ams. Witsel wants premier league football... November 18, 201312 yr Apparently, Matic is off to Real Madrid in January Damn, he would be so handy for us. Edited November 18, 201312 yr by skippy
November 18, 201312 yr ^He is a DM but you wonder why he made a big money move to Russia in the summer.
November 18, 201312 yr ^He is a DM but you wonder why he made a big money move to Russia in the summer. erm.......for big money ?
November 18, 201312 yr ^He is a DM but you wonder why he made a big money move to Russia in the summer. He moved to russia last summer anyway, not this summer
November 19, 201312 yr If Matic isnt a powerful CM then i dont know who is The guy is like 190cm tall, probably weighs over 90 kg He isn't fast though, which is what I meant by powerful. Having two relatively slow cool players in a 2 wouldn't work as they would get overrun by the toures and shweinstiegers when it comes to big games. For example when we played man city we played to six footers in our pivot in Mikel and lamps and our midfield got overrun. That's what i mean by physical someone who can dominate players. Chalobah in my mind can do that if given an opportunity as can van ginkel or de bruyne.
November 21, 201312 yr Were linked with Rodriguez from Wolfsburg the other day,my second choice behind Shaw for a new Left back. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/443793/Chelsea-want-Sunderland-target-Ricardo-Rodriguez-as-Ashley-Cole-replacement
November 21, 201312 yr Martinez is a poor man's Falcao. Porto would probably sell him at some extortionate price as well. Would prefer Shaw to Rodriguez as he's English and we need more of those but he'd be good for sure!
November 21, 201312 yr Also talk of Dembele wanting to leave Spurs,i know its unlikely Spurs would sell to us but im a big Dembele fan and if there is any chance of him leaving i would hope we would be interested.
November 21, 201312 yr Also talk of Dembele wanting to leave Spurs,i know its unlikely Spurs would sell to us but im a big Dembele fan and if there is any chance of him leaving i would hope we would be interested. Dembele has been absolutely dreadful as of late. Personally Im not a huge fan of Ramires as a pivot player, but imo hes better then Dembele who is not a particularly creative player, not good in the box and certainly not a defensive midfielder. He would essentially give us exactly what Ramires does except with poorer defensive contributions.

He has been poor of late i agree but i thought he was excellent last season and Spurs were much better when he was in the team and i think they didn't lose for ages when he played. Also against us this season at 3 point lane he was impressive. He is very good at dribbling past players but doesn't shoot often enough which he even admitted himself he needed to do more. Also i think your under rating his defensive contribution i dont know the stats but i'm pretty sure he has a high tacking percentage.Brings us power in midfield too.
November 27, 201312 yr Everyone's favourite newspaper is reporting we are interested in Sevilla left back Moreno: Chelsea and Manchester United are set to fight it out for the services of Sevilla left back Alberto Moreno. The 21-year-old, who is also being courted by Real Madrid, is eligible to play in the Champions League this term and is considered as the long-term successor to England star Ashley Cole at Stamford Bridge. The London club sent European scout Mick Doherty to run the rule over Moreno in recent weeks and could launch a January bid expected to be in excess of £20million. Moreno's buy-out clause is £25m Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is a keen admirer of Moreno, who recently made his debut for the Spanish national team, but the Portuguese could also move for Southampton defender Luke Shaw. United and Madrid have both sent scouts to watch Moreno this season with Old Trafford boss David Moyes also keeping tabs on Fabio Coentrao. United ran out of time to complete a season-long loan deal for Coentrao in the last window but have revived their interest and are ready to explore the possibility of signing him on a permanent basis. Left-back remains a priority position for Moyes, with Patrice Evra running down his contract and Alexander Buttner failing to convince that he can step up from squad player, and the United manager is gradually whittling down the list of candidates. He is beginning to lose hope of prising prime target Leighton Baines away from Everton, and is increasingly turning his attention to Portugal left-back Coentrao, who has the same attacking style as the England defender.
November 28, 201312 yr The mirror talking about Liverpool interested in bertrand for 8 million. Telegraph too: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/liverpool/10479350/Liverpool-ready-to-make-January-transfer-move-for-Chelsea-defender-Ryan-Bertrand.html That would be another mistake if true..
November 28, 201312 yr Yeah, sell him to Liverpool. It's not like it will come back and bite us in the arse or anything...
November 28, 201312 yr Absolutely joke. We'll eventually have a team full of foreigners. Lampard won't be here long, nor will cole or terry. I don't want a team full of foreign players, but it's not what the fans want.
November 28, 201312 yr I heard City nearly bought him for £5M in the summer so his price has shot up. Haven't seen alot of him but i still prefer Shaw being English and a Chelsea fan afterall.

I reckon signing Barkley from Everton and signing Shaw from Southampton would be great, young English replacements for Cole and Lampard.
November 28, 201312 yr Would they ever get a game though.. Depends how long we stay in the league cup for.
