I'd rotate him with Zouma... (don't get me wrong Cahill is a good CB but for me isn't on the same level as Hummels/Godin/Pique/Ramos/JT/etc).

I do rate Varane, but he's only 21 and is yet to demonstrate the leadership qualities we'll need when JT hangs up his boots, in that respect Hummels would seem to fit the bill perfectly.

I don't even think Pique is on the same level as Pique.

Cahill is far better than many give him credit for, if JT played in Cahill's position as right centre back he would struggle as much if not more from the lack of A to Z outside of him and covering for Ivan's being out of position .

    If JT played on that side Ivan would find himself in position a lot more.

    I recall you praising him a while back. 

     

    As for why he's not moved, I don't really think a serious offer as ever been made. United were linked with him but I don't think it got much further than an inquiry, the valuation Benfica had placed on him at the time was pretty high. His clause has actually been lowered with the new contract he signed last year so they are clearly looking to move him on before his age depletes his value

    First time I saw him he played really well against the Mancs in the champion's league. Quite a few seasons ago now.

    If Salah is moving on, that would mean Hazard, Willian and Cuadrado for wide positions (unless you count Oscar). If I'm not mistaken, Gaitan plays mainly on the left but cuts in on his right. Could be a decent Hazard back-up and play centrally too, if needed.

    Would love to sell plenty of the loanees we have right now and integrate more academy products. Dont like how Jose always goes for experience over youth players and doesnt give them enough chances

    I do lol, it just boggles my mind how we have nearly 30 loanees, and most of them will never make the 1st team? Just seems like a massive waste. Like why not loan out youth products we have that need more game time, and also have a good chance of making the first team instead of people like Marin and Kakuta..
