Well, if you based it on performance, then Willian should be playing in the Under 21s, since he has been piss-poor so far.  I think that the price tags are having an effect on who is on the team and who is not.

Willian was not piss poor against Basle he was poor against Swindon though same as KDB, Willian must have shown more to Mourinho in the games and in training. Mourinho talks about KDB in this article, they asked him about the possibility of KDB playing in the pivot too.

I find it funny how Moyes never gets asked about Zaha not getting on the bench for Utd and was only recently in the England squad and cost the club £15M.

Or, now I might be crazy here. Its a combination of what Mourinho expects from certain players based on previous performances, fit in tactics and performance in training.

KDB is a young, promising player.  I've not seen enough from him to suggest that he should be starting ahead of others, but I've seen enough to suggest that he is an exception prospect.

Jose is obviously showing a lot of players that he has a philosophy and if players can't adhere to it, then they can't play.  You can either listen to that philosophy, and work hard to amend your play, like Mata has.  Or you'll soon find yourself out of favour.

Honestly, a load of posters on here are as determined to focus on the negative as those same Journo's are.

don't know much about this mourinho guy, but I am a spoilt and entitled idiot, and I do notice we're not top of the league at the moment, AND I have seen a good four minute youtube compilation of de brian which had special effects like lazers and lights and all different rap songs by those lads who own those backwards softball hats and I can't remember what my point is, but lol I'm thirteen years old lol and have finished grand theft autocars 74%, oh yeah the compilation was top quality de brian did this kick which was like a backheel but it was forwards and not with his heal and then my retard friend whats upped my like from the bud wiser ads -I like bud wiser ;)  and he was like all in my face asking what I did whith his tired repar kit but I don't even own a bike so I told him to shut up but then the compilation finished and it couldn't go back cos it kept buffering jose out my favourite player in <3

:laugh2:

Anyhow I'm not reading a great deal into this at all; he's simply being left out of the squad in Bucharest due to recent less-than-satisfactory outings but there's nothing to suggest that it's anything but temporary. He'll get his chance (very soon I imagine) just as others have but of course, that hardly makes for a selling headline...

I do feel sorry for KDB but i trust Jose. He is right, Kevin didnt play well against a lower division team so how can he be trusted to play in the Champions League. Jose talking about how he is in training is also another red flag. We dont see these guys in training everyday Jose does. So if players are dropped then we have to trust Jose to have a good reason why.

(I never thought I would say that :good2: )

Must be really degrading for a 22 year old to train with 21 year olds.

Bit like going out with a 13 year old girl when you're 14, the stigma.

Thought Willian was a pointless signing at the time and am beginning to resent it even more. There was and still is no need for him whatsoever, his performances have been poor so far, and all his arrival has done is destabilise Mata and now De Bruyne too. The simple fact is that one of the 6 will have to go and KDB is the most expendable. I'd hate to see him leave, I watched the Bundesliga highlight show every week last year and was really impressed with what I saw. He practically carried that Bremen team and without his endeavours they may well have gone down.

What astounds me is how Hazard gets picked every week. He's been arguably our most underwhelming player so far this year yet Jose picks him regardless. Why does Hazard escape the scrutiny that Mata and now KDB are subject to?

By performance you mean the game and half that he's played?

By performance you mean the game and half that he's played?

Yes. The same game in which KDB's performance, which was certainly no worse than Willian's, got him relegated to the U21's.

Not impressing/showing the right attitude in training has also lead to KDB training with the Under 21's.

If he gets his head down and trains hard he'll be back in contention with the first team squad.

Nothing wrong with the manager demanding only 100% from his players on and off the pitch.

Every Chelsea player that doesn't travel to European away games plays with the U21's.

But this is my point. Hazard has definitely not put in 100% in many of the games he's played. Sure, his defensive efforts have improved but he's been quite lackadaisical in a few games. So why the double standard? Granted, we don't see the training sessions but ultimately it's match performances that count.

Is there any excuse for a player not to give 100% in training?

No. They earn ridiculous amounts of money so the boss has every right to demanding 100%. A boss that has won the Champions League twice, the Premier League twice and loads of other major trophies.

What did you make of Lampard after his first season with us which was very underwhelming? I'm not sure how you can say a player is a pointless signing before they've even kicked a ball.

This is the problem we have in football, players feeling they don't have to push themselves and just run off when the going gets tough.

I remember when we bought Ballack and people said it would destabilise Lampard and he'd end up scoring less goals.

The truly great players relish competition and up their game, it's what Torres & Mata are doing now, it's what Lampard, Terry and Drogba did in the past.

I rate KDB and want him to succeed, but if he isn't prepared to work hard enough and fight for a place then he can leave. The reality is, he's at a big club, full of established international players. I want players with the same attitude as Juan Mata playing for my club.

But this is my point. Hazard has definitely not put in 100% in many of the games he's played. Sure, his defensive efforts have improved but he's been quite lackadaisical in a few games. Big difference between not playing at 100% and not giving 100%. Hazard gives it his all in every game he plays in and has clearly been carrying aninjury since the International Break. We don't see what happens behind closed doors at the end of the day.

Care to elaborate on which games you feel Hazard has been lackadaisical? Yes he isn't playing as well as he could but I don't think I could fault his work rate and effort.

I do not see any double standards with regards to team selection personally, if anything most who have a game that is below par are finding themselves out of the start XI after that as has been the case with KDB, Luiz, van Ginkel, Ba, Schurrle, Mata. I personally think Mourinho has been quite consistent with what he demands from the team.
