Kevin De Bruyne

Featured Replies

I still think he'd do a better job at CM than Lampard is doing this season but that's more than likely not going to happen. I also think overall he's even better than Schurrle and Willian but he's just not getting the chance.

When he got it, he didn't live with it. And he's also done bad at training as Jose had problems with him. While on the other hand, both Willian and Schürrle had to wait for their chance just as long and they took it. Maybe they haven't done exceptionally amazing in attack but neither did Kevin, while the other two showed great effort in defense, running tirelessly and fighting strong, and that's what Jose wants to see more than anything (supposedly).

No problem. I don't care if we win the Champions League because Suarez had a handball clearance off the line against Barcelona in the semi final. A win is a win is a win

I'd rather win because we deserved it not because we have a shameless cheat in our team.

If Suarez were in our team we would probably win from a moment of pure genius and skill from the Uruguayan, the way he usually wins games for his teams. We have no free kick takers who can score the kinda goal he scored today vs Everton.

yeah we do. And they aren't absolute c**ts either.

Let's build a team of nice, sweet guys who can't win a game. That would make Stim happy bc we'd have no jerks on the team, regardless of success.

Rofl, I wouldn't wanna sell out to scum like that for the sake of "success".

Ps why would you want ones who cant win a game? I never said anything like that stop making stuff up. We have ones that can win a game, FYI.

im with Stim on this one. why buy an absolute c**t at an inflated price when you could buy another world class player for cheaper abroad, and have himavailable for every game. i was proud of our champions league win not just because we won it, but the way we won it. our players gave everything. we didnt cheat, we just worked our nuts off and fought for every ball. wining it a second time through a handball off the line, or diving for a pen etc would not have the same satisfaction. suarez is a twat and i would never want him to represent our club, no matter how many goals he can score

Fair enough. To each his own.

Lol sorry for the strawman

Kevin De Bruyne has hardly featured for Chelsea this season ever since he was criticised by the manager. Now, with an apparent change of attitude, De Bruyne will be rewarded with a start against Sunderland tonight.

As we all know, Jose Mourinho has spoken of the Chelsea team reaching a level of maturity and the players beginning to understand his mentality and philosophy. At different times during the course of the season he has called out players such as Juan Mata and De Bruyne for having to adapt to his style and the way he wants them to play.

Juan Mata has kept his head down, worked hard and forced himself into Mourinho's plans and delivered a great performance in the win against Southampton last weekend, playing the full ninety minutes.

Now, it's seems that De Bruyne has followed Mata's example and will be rewarded as revealed by Mourinho yesterday. He said:

'Kevin is showing desire and working very hard. I feel sorry for him that I haven't given him big opportunities up to now but he's working better than ever. Of course, he's sad when he's not selected or not playing, but he's working in a very professional way, which is a change from the beginning.

When he works the way he's working he has to play sooner or later. For tonight he's selected so he has a chance to play and in this block of games, for sure, he has to start matches.

I like him as a player and I've learned now how to like him as a kid because he's a good kid and he's showing now he's a good professional, so hopefully I can give him enough time on the pitch so he can be happy.

I understand he needs to play a bit more but it's the area of the pitch where we have more options, but I am speaking with him and we are working on that. He can also play as a midfielder when we play with a triangle, he did that for Werder Bremen, so hopefully we can find more options for Kevin to play because I like him very much.'

You have to hold your hands up to the way Jose manages his players. We may not like it at times (Mata) but it seems to be working and if anything it keeps them on their toes.

Big opportunity for the lad tonight, he was superb against Hull in the first game of the season so it was surprising to see him fade after that.

Would love to see a big performance from him tonight and if he plays a little deeper he might get a chance to get a couple of shots of from range because from what I have seen of him he has a venomous shot on him.

Fingers crossed for him tonight.

Am I right in thinking that Jose is referring to the 433 rather than the 4231? And specifically to the role that Frank used to play in the 433, as he did against West Ham recently Ie. as a box-to-box midfielder, linking the midfield and attack?

That's what it seems like. In that case I imagine it'd be him alongside Ramires with Mikel anchoring.

I'm sure it was in the plan to bring him on, I was interested to see if Jose was about to try him for Frank or just put him on for Willian or Hazard, that said Frank didn't tire and had a great game, Willian put a shift in and although Hazard was a bit quiet (lol) I don't think subbing him would have helped.

I can understand not bringing him into that sort of chaotic game, not the right situation but I'm sure he'll get time soon.

Rumour now that KDB will be off to the German Bundesliga (maybe even in January) as he isn't getting enough time at Chelsea to keep his World Cup hopes alive.

Shame, as even Jose is saying he is giving him selection issues, but then he isn't actually getting any game time.

Wolfsburg was the rumour I read yesterday.

The 6 attacking midfield options really is turning out to be one player too many.

I know a couple of injuries or suspensions could change that but the truth is a lot of our players are quite versatile that it would take something pretty serious happening to our squad for it to be stretched thin.

It brings us back to the question many of us have been asking, if we were so overstocked on attacking midfield players to the extent we sent Marin, Piazon and Moses on loan why invest £50m in two more attacking midfielders when it's only going to cause problems for ourselves?

Looking at the striker woes we currently have and that just one injury in central midfield has left us light on options you really do have to wonder why the transfer kitty was invested the way it was.

Ah man but I really like Schürrle. Glad we bought him. Willian was the real headscratcher this summer. He cost more than Oscar lol whatevs it's not my money.
