Kevin De Bruyne

I get a bad feeling that when KDB comes back and hes expected to fill in Lampard's spot, we're going to get a nasty surprise that he's clearly being played out of position.

Does he ever get played that deep at Bremen?

From what I've seen/read, yes he does. He plays with a proper defensive mid alongside him when he plays there. I think KDB will improve us significantly. His range of passing is excellent and, assuming he can improve his defensive ability (which is probably just as good as Lampard at the moment), he'll be a great player for us.

Read one article at the weekend saying there were 3 German teams keen on signing him and that we might sell him for a "cut price deal" before he has even played for us.

Not sure why it would be a "cut price" when he is so in demand? Journalism at it's finest once again.

If he were a Manc, they'd be talking about their "30 million rated starlet". Chelsea player? Might be sold for cut price.

Indeed, the fact we managed to sign a decent prospect who is now viewed as one of the best talents in one of the world's best leagues shouldn't be acknowledged.

No, we're going to ship him off for a "cut price" before he pulls on a Chelsea shirt because suddenly other clubs can see what our scouts spotted 18 months ago.

I'd rather our young players are underrated in the media, it means anyone thats been relying on it for their perspectives on the players are in for a nasty surprise when they come back, I don't think anyone will be surprised by Lukaku when he comes back and smashes 30 goals next season though!

Let's just hope the curse of el nino doesn't strike him as it seems to have done to Ba.

That really needs to be underlined. I never rated de Bruyne for a moment when he was playing wide. He simply was not impressive. Whoever saw that his game would play well in the center deserves a ton of credit, because no other club of our stature was in for him back then.

What you see is what you get with Ba. He'll score the goals, but they'll come in bunches and then dry up. He did it last year as well in the second half, albeit he wasn't always playing striker.

It's going to depend whether whoever our next manager is giving Lukaku a run of games in the team.

Considering the string of matches Torres was allowed at the start of this season with little return it will frustrate me if any of our strikers (whoever they are) aren't given the same level of patients.

To be fair, the club have invested heavily in our youth team and I think this extends to the signings of Lukaku, De Bruyne, Courtois, Piazon.

They are looking at young potential and hoping to bring them through, I would assume, to avoid paying £20m+ transfer fees for a new player all the time.

I think De Bruyne being used in the squad could rely heavily on Lampard leaving ,which I don't want. Our attacking trio is already hotly contested but we'll see how it goes and he is still a great talent.

Fair enough, not much excuse for that string of painful misses against wet spam though.

Todays homegame against Macedonia:                                       Last weeks away game against Macedonia

Hazard---------De Bruyne--------------Mertens                                 De Bruyne----------Fellaini----------------Hazard

Both games Hazard and De Bruyne have been the best players. I think De Bruyne will give Oscar competition for his place, clearly a better player then Moses is atm atleast.

Not to mention Marin and bloody Benayoun! Though whether KDB should be deployed out wide is up for debate...

I watched both Belgium games and the manager made a  glaring error in both games. In the first game you could justify starting Benteke. He's played well and is a good striker, but he had an awful game. What's more, he started and finished the second game as well, where he played sh*t again. They have an in form Romelu Lukaku on the bench and didn't use him in either game even though Benteke wasn't contributing anything.

I was disappointed by this, but pleased that KDB played the full 90 in both games.

Not happy about these rumours linking De Bruyne as a part-exchange for Schurrle. Whilst I do like the latter, I'm a much bigger fan of De Bruyne and really think we ought to give him a chance.

The rumours I read had it down as a loan for a season, which is more acceptable but I would still prefer him back at the club.
