Kevin De Bruyne

Not just any ordinary 21 year old he is a full international, makes zero sense. From what I have seen, he is miles better than Marin & Moses and just don't get the obsession with Schurrie.

Yup, under-rated because he hasn't got a 20M pounds price tag on him.

It seems clear that we want to sell KDB, I cannot see any reason why we are considering letting him go on loan again..

Maybe not. I think he would be drafted into the side next season (if the club want him) and a special gift could be waiting for him :

Lampard's No.8 shirt.

I'm sure he could afford to buy one from the Megastore, if he wanted. Then again, if you want one worn by the man himself, then it's not that simple...

Well, Messi aint coming around, Mata already has his jersey number. I think KDB will be a worthy recipient for the No.8, unless you want to buy some transfer record breaking player and give it to him. You don't rate him because he was signed for a meager 7M pounds ?

BTW, did you want Benayoun to get it ?

Cant believe the club gets so much stick for apparently handling KdB badly when I think they have done a great job first in signing him and then giving him a full season at the correct level in Germany. Think his development is coming along nicely and expect him to be cracking our squad this season. Until he does get loaned/sold can people stop complaining.

The obsession with Schurrle is the fact that hes a very good young player with huge potential.Everyone knows he is better than Marin,Dont know why you include Marin as he is very unlikely to play anyway and likely to be sold. The club feels that he needs 1 more season of regular football, CL football next season too.He will play every week and improve and when he returns we reap the benefits of his loan moves as he hopefully comes back a better player prior to when we signed him.

Not usually a fan of stats when arguing a point & I get your point but are we really get a fair deal?, considering Schurrie's valuation I would say No. Take away the 3 Amigos and you are left with Marin & Moses. I would say De Bruyne has way more to offer the team than Moses. Two things that bother me the deal is; personally I don't think he is highly rated by the National team. Even when they left out the regulars against Ecudaor, he was on the bench and Sidney Sam & Draxler were drafted in. Normally, he is behind Reus, Gotze & Muller. Secondly, if he was highly rated in Germany, the big two would have been after him. In the last two seasons we have been after him, Bayern have bought Shaqiri and now Gotze, & Dortmund Reus to play in the band of three. German talents are usually kept within the country, bar Ozil & Khedira who moved to Madrid. The other ones are either not highly rated enough; Mertesacker & Poldoski or moved to the big ones and close to retirement Klose, Ballack. Just hope he doesn't turn out to be a Shawn Wright-Philips.

First off we need Moses because he is a home-grown player and he is willing to be a squad player and not kick up a fuss.Again your comparing them when you don't need too, we can have both and i expect one day we will have both in our squad. Schurrle for me is a different player to KDB and offers something different to the squad right now. KDB has only had one season out of the Belgium league maybe the board feel he needs one more season of regular football.

I think Schurrle is better than Shaqiri,i think Schurrle has so much potential.I disagree i think he highly rated by the national team, so if Dortmund and Munich don't want him that means he is not a good player? Schurrle makes SWP look like a donkey, you under rate Schurrle.

Good point.

If Schurrle is good enough to be drafted into the senior team next season then so is KDB.

We've got to remember that we're only loaning De Bruyne, not selling him.

Emenalo and the board have decided that Schurrle is a supremely talented young player who will improve a lot over the coming seasons and will add a lot to the squad, and it's hard to disagree with that. Leverkusen didn't want to or have to sell, but agreed to do so under the proviso that they got to borrow De Bruyne for a year.

Clearly, they've come to the conclusion that Schurrle would add enough that we'll be strong with him instead of De Bruyne and that the long term future of having Mata, Hazard, Oscar, Moses, Schurrle and De Bruyne competing for 3 spaces in the side is mouthwatering enough to make a year with De Bruyne somewhere else worth it.

Everyone here is free to disagree with that decision, and many no doubt will, but it's not like this is a terrible decision. It's a decision where either option would be good and would benefit the side. Remember of course that De Bruyne will get more games with Bayer and they'll be playing in the Champions League, it's another step up from where he was last year. Each season for him seems to be a step up.

Schurrle is not better than KDB really. To spunk £20m on him and then loan out KDB again is pointless.

They're about equal, but offer slightly different things. To miss out on a talented player like Schurrle would be pointless.

I've seen a lot of Kevin at Werder Bremen, sometimes from the stands, sometimes on TV. I really enjoyed him. In a moderate Bremen team he always remained on his feet, without him they would probably be relegated. My advice to Chelsea? That they need to get him. I really hope Kevin gets his chance next season, he's ready.

I will certainly appeal to Mourinho.

Piet De Visser has Abramovich ear atleast since 2005 and have done some good things in Chelsea, like getting Scolari fired and Hiddink to replace him etc.

"According to De Visser he alerted Roman Abramovich of Scolari's lacklustre training methods: "I had to watch training sessions he was giving to the squad. I died of shock. It was so weak, his training sessions lacked every kind of sharpness. It made the entire squad lack sharpness in matches. I did not need a lot of time to conclude things were really bad with Chelsea."

I think we will get rid of Marin this summer, probably buy Schurrle and Mourinho will convince De Bruyne to stay. I don't see a problem with gametime for De Bruyne, when he can play in 4 positions (AML, AMR, AMC, CM). With some squad rotation and 60+ games, he should be able to feature in 30+ games.

Whether or not he is up to PL standard at the moment is a guessing game, but I will say that with Lukaku he certainly seems to have stepped up. I know he didn't get much of a run with us prior to his loan but he looked awe struck at times, so the loan system has benefited him and us. With KDB if we can bring him back and give him a chance I would love it, his pace, touch, intelligence all suggest enough to me that he is worth bringing back. i don't know enough about Schurrle, but if the bundesliga is too weak to give KDB credit for his time with Bremen then surely the same applies to Schurrle. It just seems like we have a talented player in KDB who could flourish with us now, without the need to spend 20 odd million on someone else. I am however no expert on the german league so would bow to others more informed opinion.

It's not just in Germany that De Bruyne impress, I've watched Belgiums last five games and he has been among the top 2 players on the pitch each time, Hazard beeing the other one. I will recommend watching him tomorrow against Serbia :)
