May 17, 201214 yr I think he could be a good option actually, would bomb down the left side, offering a lot defensively as well as going forward. When you think the alternatives are Kalou, Malouda (if fit), Torres, Sturridge - with three of those being out of position themselves, I think he's got a shot.
May 17, 201214 yr Someone posted his name on Monday on this site. They must have had inside information.
May 17, 201214 yr Something I would like to see in the final, yet something I doubt will happen and further doubt that people will agree with me on is Bertrand playing on the left of midfield. I know he is young, less experienced, out of position, yada yada yada. But here is why I would like to see it: - He hasn't had a bad game this season (IMO) - He is naturally a defender and so will by extremely effective in helping to deal with Robben and the general attacking threat of Bayern. - He is also pacey and deceptively strong on the ball making him ideal for counter attacks. - Like Ashley he provides a real attacking threat a good final ball. - Playing him on the left allows us to play Mata in that central role where he is most useful, which further would stop Ashley from being exposed at the back. - Finally and significantly: we would not be forced to play Kalou or Malouda (some may want them in the team but personally I cringe when I see them on the team sheet) I thought I would move this discussion from "General chat" to the appropriate thread.
May 17, 201214 yr If we win will that mean that Terry can join in the celebration and lift the trophy? Cause I remember Lampard stating that he'll let him lift it, but I don't know if that's allowed.

I like your logic. It is too bad that RDM did not experiment with this in the last game against Blackburn, but even then I would not mind too much if we tried it.
May 17, 201214 yr Having Bertrand on the bench at least would be nice. I'm sure he'll be on the bench at the very least.
May 17, 201214 yr will ref the game on Saturday (why didn't they pick a German ref just to make Bayern more at home) http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11668/7761958/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
May 17, 201214 yr Interesting to see Basti praising Lampard in the mail today. They swapped shirts at the 2010 World cup and Schweinsteiger was spotted later that summer wearing the shirt while having a kickabout with his mates in Munich's Englischer garten. Edited May 17, 201214 yr by zippy
May 17, 201214 yr I don't think a portuguese will be any more anti-Chelsea than anyone else, or more importantly pro-bayern What if we got an Italian?? We sacked one of there's a year ago so will we not get that penalty we deserve?
May 17, 201214 yr I think it's a good shout, I was thinking that last night. as you say, better than the alternatives (arguably!).
May 17, 201214 yr I would definitely like to see him in there, but RDM rarely changes tactics. In the away game against Barca, Mata started again even though his style of play wasn't very useful when defending.
May 17, 201214 yr Someone on another site claimed he would be starting there actually. I would be surprised if RDM throws him in though, after only 20 minutes in the position on sat. Kalou, Drog and Torres to be the front 3. Fernando will need to step up the tracking back When he plays he always tracks back and runs his bollux off!!
May 17, 201214 yr I have some inside info on the starting line up for sat!! cech cole luiz cahill bossy mikel lamps mata drogba torres kalou my mates mum walks her dog down the same park as robbie d and the 2 dogs had a chat and it turns out the dog overheard eddie and robbie talking about the team.
May 17, 201214 yr Not trying to be a ass mate but dont post team selection if thats the news you got, just keep it to yourself. Hi mate the only one who knows the team would be robbie. But I have been told I can tell who I like this by him. I'm f**kin made up Todd Kane is in the squad for the final and travels tomorrow morning with the first team at 9.00. Yes I'm a little biased but I've seen how dedicated this lad is, don't drink, smoke, stay out late and he's a Chelsea fan through and through. I'm so proud, pleased for him and his whole family. Even if he sits on the bench it's an unbelievable opportunity for him. Up the chels
May 17, 201214 yr lets hope he has a good game, I can accept losing fairly, but losing due to refball is the worst thing ever.
May 17, 201214 yr As much as I like Todd Kane, why would he (assuming Bosingwa is starting) suddenly leapfrog Ferreira and Hutchinson to sit on the bench as our second-choice right back (especially on such a big occasion)?

They swapped shirts at the 2010 World cup and Schweinsteiger was spotted later that summer wearing the shirt while having a kickabout with his mates in Munich's Englischer garten. Well its only right that your appreciative of elder and better players..........
May 17, 201214 yr Yeah, those were the ones I meant. You are right in that it is a bit different, when you chastised some of the fans on our forum for giving up after it was 2-0, but you must admit there are some similarities with that and not even watching a crucial part of the match (the end) No you are totally and utterly wrong, again,..... I dont see any similarity, the difference between a supporter who TOTALLY gives up on his team when they are losing 2-0 and starts blasting the players on a public forum (remember these comments were made in the first half with game still in progress), and a supporter not being able to stomach watching a penalty kick shootout because their nerves are shot to bits from watching the last 120 minutes......A MASSIVE CANYON sized difference between the two.
May 17, 201214 yr As much as I like Todd Kane, why would he (assuming Bosingwa is starting) suddenly leapfrog Ferreira and Hutchinson to sit on the bench as our second-choice right back (especially on such a big occasion)? I believe that both Ferreira and Hutchinson are ineligible.
May 17, 201214 yr I believe that both Ferreira and Hutchinson are ineligible. Hutch I think so too but Paulo played against Benfica so unless he is injured he can play.
May 17, 201214 yr I believe that both Ferreira and Hutchinson are ineligible. Hutch is not available and I'm not sure about paulo. But hutch no
